There's video of him yelling at our TEs (Ferguson?) "get on the fucking line of scrimmage!!!". So yeah, he will get in guy's faces.
That isn't getting in the face of anyone..... That's typical direction from either the QB or a coach giving direction to get your ass back in position.

That's all the coaches did in high school was yell at everyone (except for the QB). Yelling is considered conversation in football.

Who fucking cares “who won the trade”?

The Rams got what they wanted out of it, and the Lions are at least relevant and good enough to be in the postseason conversation.

Just a stupid waste of time at this point.

Everyone should always care how a trade plays out? Its awfully convenient to say: "I hate this trade, it sucks" and then follow it up with "who fucking cares 'who won the trade'?' - not saying that was you specifically, just saying as a general concept, it reeks of "I want to be right no matter what".

On top of that, they experienced that success so soon, they are basically getting to the point to where we were when we moved on from Goff.

Most of their fans are like the faction we had that staunchly defended Goff, because they have an even better supporting cast on offense than we did and he's looked better because of that. But the Lions fan who posted this gets it.

I'll admit I was nervous and surprised when the trade went down. Usually when there's a fallout between a coach and a QB that took a team to a Super Bowl and was the #1 overall pick the coach gets handed their hat.

But it turned out to be the best trade in Rams history, and it's looking like we will get another ring this season.

going to touch. on a point that don't think has been mentioned yet

Goff isn't a leader of men.. he has more of a "ah shucks"attitude

Stafford is a dawg.. he'll get right in your face, or a defensive players face and start barking. That's the type of qb we needed

Goff has small hands

@duanevalle22

do you remember #9 running down the field in the SB and getting in a DBs face because of the cheap shot on Kupp in the end zone ?

I am sure I could find the video if needed to refresh your memory

The trade took place almost 5 years ago. Goff as a Ram and Stafford as a Lion are both distant memories. Both teams are inarguably better off for having made the trade.

At this point it’s just a big waste of time to give energy to who won.

How exactly do you lose a trade that makes your team better?

"Better" is really a matter of perspective though. We definitely won because we won the Super Bowl.

For the Lions - if they peaked last year, sure, you can say they got better - temporarily, with no hardware to show for it. Reverse engineer this for the Ramsey trade, since its the most comparable. In 2020 (first full year after we traded for him), we had the best defense in the NFL (so we got 'better'). Then there was some fluctuation statistically, and then lets pretend we did NOT win the Super Bowl in 2021 and everything else played out the same - I would view that trade as a failure, even though we got 'better' temporarily.

If Holmes and Campbell are as good as people think they are, what if Goff is the ceiling for the Lions right now? What if they kept Stafford, used cap space to build around him with their normal picks? What if they still had their exact same offense, but without Gibbs - so Stafford and Montgomery? What if not being that good that quickly led to them being more aggressive?

The NFL is unique because you either have the QB or you don't - teams like the LOB Seahawks, Eagles when Wentz/Foles was there - they can pop up every now and then. But to have true consistency you need an elite QB.

Now if we want to grade this on a curve because its the Lions and they are a historically woeful franchise, that works too....that is probably what most people are doing. And that's where the 'win/win' comes from. But their fans aren't seeing it that way any longer - they think ARSB is better than Puka, Gibbs is amazing, the OL is great, Campbell is great, Holmes is the best and Goff is a top ten QB. What they - like Seahawks fans during the LOB era - don't understand is, if your QB was truly THAT good, and those other pieces are what you say they are, the Lions would never lose. They have Super Bowl aspirations and want to shed that 'woe is me' moniker to play with the big boys....and for that, I'm not grading this on a curve anymore.

And the article posted here makes so much sense - probably the most realistic Lions fan I've seen.

If their defense was halfway decent in 2023, they would have made it to the superbowl.

In addition, that was the worst coaching job by Campbell plus 2 4th down drops by Josh Reynolds.

Goff should have made it to the superbowl that year.

Last year - Goff had one of his can't make a throw for the life of him games. He always has at least one a year and I can usually tell by his first throw if he is going to have that game. Unfortunately, that happened to be the playoff game. Really bad time to have that type of game.

This year - he has reverted a little bit.
