Civil suits like this take years to litigate. The only way to move it along would be for the NFL to enforce its solvency clause in the ownership agreements. The sister is right, the team is insolvent, in that they can barely pay their current bills because Dean and the brothers siphon off too much money each year. The other way would be for Kroenke to demand the Chargers live up to their rental agreement which they haven't. That would force the NFL's hand in regards to the solvency clause.

He definitely would have buyers who would move the franchise back to SD. BTW Spanos still owes the NFL $365M for their relocation fee dating back to when they first moved to LA. But Dean won't sell unless he's forced to do so. Blame the NFL for allowing it to happen. The sister is litigating this all wrong. She should have also, included the NFL which has allowed this organization to operate in violation of their own guidelines. If the other owners were dragged into this they could force the sale much like in DC.

It's why I question whether the Chargers can pay Herbert what he's going to demand in 2025 and it would make them open to trading Herbert next year.

I thought the sister dropped the suit and was selling her share.
In any event, much ado about nothing

Sounds like this is the same sister that tried to force the rest of the family to sell the team and she's at it again. She's the only one of the 4 and she keeps doing stuff like this with no support. Sounds like she's the crazy sister, doubt anything happens with this as much as I'd like Spanos gone.

Nah… the NFL hates owners in massive debt and if the Spanos trust cannot viably field a team without incurring long term debt… the NFL can force a sale.

Moreover, if that debt is legit as it seems to be, the creditors will have an EASY argument to make in front of the judge as debt is one of the only things rich people are held accountable for… not always (looking at you forgiven PPP loans), but mostly.

The Spanos’ won’t be broke, but they can’t print NFL money forever.

They’re fine.
It wasn’t the team/owner cash the suit was about.

We should swap them out for UCLA football...
