Just think of it as a good cardiovascular workout. :)

I agree with going for it, but not sure on the play call. As Stafford said that is our bread and butter short yardage play, whiners D knew what was coming. The way Stafford missed a few open throws early, I can understand not wanting to go play action. Maybe something to the edge or in the vicinity of Avila, Jackson and Puka blocking their asses off.

I got to thinking what about using Whittington in the backfield with KW out in slot or whatever. Teams are gonna expect Whittington to get it and let KW slip out in the open field. After you burn them with KW a couple times, slam Whittington up in there. Work in some play action and screen it to KW or Whittington. With the extra days and being about the qtr mark of the season, I would expect to see McVay self scout and break some tendencies. Its almost like he has been setting a trap for Ds by focusing on Puka and Adams so much. Which is understandable, but get Tutu and Whittington more involved.

Does anyone know if Hunter has good hands? Might be a good week to get him some opportunities with the 1s.

He should be sick that it ever even got to that point when we were playing against a highly depleted roster.

Some of the execution problems (fumbles, dropped passes) are not on him. But coming out flat and letting the D stay in a gameplan that was perfect for their offense to have success off of most certainly is his fault.

Whatever you think about that last call, that's not where McVay's focus should be. His focus should be on how it got to that point when we were at home with a lot more talent on our roster and still managed to play down to their level and lose.
Shula and the rest of the staff is part of this too. But yeah McVay should be sick. He lets Ratboy bend him over way too much on these matchups. Ratboy always eats our defense. McVay rarely eats the SF defense.

We have been a whipping boy for the Whiners during the regular season, as of late. We need to change that in SF.

I’m sick over it too. Football especially watching the Rams can be hazardous to your health.

Last night after the game I slept like a baby. Woke up every two hours and cried.
I only woke once...at 4:40 am...and laid there until I arose for work at 7:00. Just like I did when we lost to the cheating Putriots in SB 36. But a lot older now.

The Niners were selling out stacking the line and someone in every gap. The talking heads were saying that play was doomed from the start since the qb isn’t a threat they had numbers and the rams had already used their timeouts. And considering the weekly oline breakdowns in crucial situations that decision wasn’t the greatest.
Travis Rogers was something about the Rams ranking in the top 5 running the ball against a light box, they are like 21st or something against a stacked box.

Can you imagine with Nacua stacked inside and the niners selling out how open he'd be if McVay had called play action and had Nacua running an out or crosser. Probably the game winner.
Years and years ago on a Monday night I believe, the Eagles had a 4th-and-1 around midfield I believe against the Cowboys. They lined up big and Jaworski threw the easiest 50+ yard TD ever.

Would be lying to say that play-call doesn't pop into my head every so often watching a 4th-and-1 nowadays.
