The list of QBs who have ever had 40+ TDs consists in no order of Brady, Manning, Brees, Mahomes, Lamar, Stafford, Warner, Marino, Burrow, Luck, Wilson, and Mayfield. Calling him a backup QB is laughable.

I'd even throw Zach Wilson in as a potential. Lance is literally one of the worst picks of all time and had no place being drafted that high.

Not really. It might extend beyond the first round, but there's a consistent usage. People don't call late round picks reclamation projects. And correct, Warner was not a reclamation project when the Rams signed him. After all, he was a UDFA who washed out of the NFL.
You're not drawing a line that makes much sense here, frankly. Lance put up better numbers in his limited action in 2021 than Darnold and Wilson did with the Jets. Wouldn't that make him a reclamation project?
That said, I'm not optimistic about Lance. The reason why is that the Jets were/are a disaster, while Kyle Shanahan is maybe the best offensive schemer in football. If Lance couldn't succeed under Kyle Shanahan, hard to see him succeeding elsewhere. Still, who knows. Maybe he matures and improves.
I don't consider him a good source on who the Rams like. I think he's making an educated guess there.
Rams probably "like" Simpson, sure. He's shown some shit that fits on film. But liking a player and identifying him at a spot as a target are two different things.
Rams also run a tight ship. So I don't think that fuck knows any more than people posting here.
Perhaps he's not but I've seen from multiple people that the Rams like Simpson. It could be a case of aggregate reporting or it could be a solid rumor.
