Smart and timely! If you wait until after the season and Landman makes the pro bowl and possibly even an all-pro, you have to start looking at Zack Baun's contract who followed a somewhat similar path last year in his first season with the Eagles and got 3 yr/51M.

Still a good contract for Landman though who came from relative obscurity and is now in an ideal environment for the long term future.

For a team that has struggled so long with mediocre play at this position, this is awesome!

but but but we could have signed Ernest Jones for this money

I’m so glad that the Rams signed Landman.
The Rams value players not positions. They will adapt their salary cap spending not based on position, but based on who they value.

Well done Rams, I’m glad that Landman will be with us the next 3 years

Smart move. He's probably the best ILB they've had in the McVay era. High football IQ. Good tackler. And that peanut punch.

Higbee looked kinda done this year. Parkinson had already surpassed him in snaps since the bye.
He’s played well and may yet come alive in the playoffs just in case you have forgotten how key he was last season and the year before. I don’t get this Higbee is ready for the scrap heap talk especially after everything he’s done for this team. Parkinson looks average and certainly no where near Higbee’s level of consistency

Rams back to being strong in the middle reminds me of the days of London Fletcher and my boy Hacksaw.

I don't know that the Rams bring Parkinson back, with a $9M cap hit, when they can create $7M in cap savings via release. They could re-work his deal.

Parkinson's Base Salary is $5.5M. Under a re-worked deal, with an additional year or two, the Rams could pay him more in 2026, while still lowering his cap hit.

Still another point is that the Free Agent Tight End group looks pretty good at the moment ... although some will likely be re-signed.
I guess let's see how remainder of season goes, he may be playing himself into that contract.

I would be ecstatic if Higbee signed a team friendly deal to stay. He’s still got plenty in the bag as a TE2
Disagree. He'll be 33 next year, will not have played a full season in two years due to injury, and doesn't play special teams.

Time to move on after he gets his ring.

Good deal all around. Good value for Rams while Landman gets immediate security.
