What do you mean, I meant it. Too many people are offended too easily. Honesty over "you hurt my feelings" every time I say.

The point is that we don't castigate fellow ROD members. It's not that hard.

Criticize the take...fine. Don't go after fellow posters.

That's the slippery slope to RamStalk... you don't want that.

Because this isn't the site for that.

This is funny. I use the term "snowflakes". Did not call out any individual posters. Snowflakes is a term about people who's 'feelings" are hurt much too easily. Its like these young kids today who are actually more worried about their poor little feelings getting hurt than FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
It weakens us as people, Americans. Get over yourselves.
So some draftee believes in himself and has the guts to says so in public. He is much more likely to succeed in life than those who are for some reason "offended" by his, to me, innocuous comments.

Let's be clear. As a Veteran, I served specifically to support and defend the Constitution as a 3rd Generation Navy person.

I'm also not going to be disingenuous when it comes to "snowflakes". It's a pejorative that infers a person is emotionally weak because they react to something the accuser doesn't.

I've lost a child. I suppose I'd be a "snowflake" because I take issue with dead baby jokes.

To a woman who's been raped, pretty sure getting triggered from a rape joke is rational and normal, not a sign of weakness.

While there are people who react disproportionately to their circumstance, more often than not, it's a matter of the accuser judging those who don't share their outlook.

The point of what I'm saying is that it's not a matter of free speech.

Free speech, firstly, if we're talking about the first amendment, has nothing to do with public discourse unless the government is involved. So, unless we're criticizing the government, "free speech" has nothing to do with it. And honestly, I tire of people abusing the Constitution almost as badly as people abuse the Bible for their own dogma as opposed to what's actually in it.

Secondly, we don't cast pejoratives on fellow members. That's verboten here insofar as this is a private, moderated forum.

You're free to sit at your computer and say out loud, "man, that Mack is an a-hole" I wouldn't even be mad at ya if you did. And it's no spoiler for me to say that I definitely can be.

But you're NOT free to do that in a post.

The inference in calling someone a snowflake is that they are a weak person for having a reaction that the person doesn't share or holds in disdain.

Seeing as we don't cast aspersions or engage in negativity with fellow posters, that's not gonna go.

So we just don't do it.

Moreover, if you engage someone in dialog, you may find that they aren't "snowflakes" at all. They just have a different outlook than you or different experiences that lead them to a different place.

With that said, keep calm and Ram On!

All you snowflakes are offended by a guy who speaks his mind and honest. What is "douchbaggery" are the pat, cliched, heard if before, afraid of hurting some real douche bags feelings, written by a publicist answers.

I think he is great. In trouble from Donald and co, but great.

He acted like a petulant spoiled child and disrespected peers, and on the biggest night of his life so far he showed his ass.

Even seen another guy fall in the draft and act like that?

I'm going to call him Josh Ball from now on.
Apparently you weren't around when Eli Manning said he would rather go to law school than the team that drafted him. The Chargers. If Rosen is a D-bag, what that make Manning?

Funny thing is, there are people who think the Giants drafted Manning.

He's 1-0 against Goff. Goff's team was ranked and Rosen's team was not.
I'm hoping for the best for Rosen, except when he plays the Rams and in key other games, and I hope he wears his F-Trump hat around AZ.

Free to say and do as you please. Some people will think you are so cool. Others, not so much. Gotta give Millennials a little room for rebellion. We all did it.

Funny... if a DB had all that "swag", no one would say boo about it.
Swag, Mack? Dropping f-bombs every other sentence doesn't constitute swag to me. I see a pretty insecure dude that does a lot of selfish things for effect.

As well, he disavowed the cliches and said, "I'm not gonna be an icehole and act like my s#it doesn't stink.
...case, in point. He knows he is talking in an interview. These guys that swear for shock value crack me up. You sound so.....Manzeil.

I'm not going to f‑‑‑‑‑‑ get in trouble for drugs or anything like that, but I don't want to be this crystal-clean guy with perfect responses," says Rosen. "I'm not going to pretend to be 50. I just want to be happy and enjoy the experiences I have and take advantage of every opportunity I've been given
Making @LesBaker 's point every time he opens his mouth. Yeah Josh. Unless you drop f-bombs with every sentence, and "Shake some s--- up" people might think you are the nerd who's image you have been fighting off for years. Like one of us 50-year-old...."unhappy" guys.:gtfo: Such a false choice. Be Johnny Manzeil or unhappy.

He looks up to actor Leonardo DiCaprio for his environmental stances
:banghead: Which ones? His yacht or his mansion? Or maybe the way he doesn't want the pesky third world nations to have access to life-saving heat and clean water like his Hollywood friends. Now THAT is a douche.

"I have a superiority complex I need to get rid of," he says. "Girls that I am really good homies with tell me about how often they have to defend my image to girls that don't know me."
:redcard:

But that brand of pragmatism has not yet influenced all of his decision-making. Rosen wore a white "F‑‑‑ Trump" bandana around a blue baseball hat while playing at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., in April, a round he bought as an ironic birthday present for a friend who supported Bernie Sanders. "Every single employee on the entire course complimented me," Rosen says. He posted a picture on Instagram, where he has 21,400 followers, and it went viral. A faux controversy bloomed. Rolling Stone blogged about him. His teammates overwhelmingly supported him. Mora brought up the Manziel comparison. "I don't regret posting the photo at all," Rosen says, "because personally I thought it was hilarious."

He does regret that the profanity overshadowed his stance. "I want people to know I'm a real person, that I don't have someone running my Instagram, I don't have someone prewriting all of my interviews and stuff," Rosen says. "With Trump, I'm learning to evolve my message and understand how to convey the substance of it."
Kinda lost your credibility already slick. Remember? It was hilarious. You don't regret posting it. I wonder if a guy wore a F-Obama bandana a few years back if he would be given a pass like this. Own it or disown it. But I saw no substance in the bandana. It's a pretty safe, group-think thing to say F-Trump right now. Not hip and edgy like you think.

"I'm not a social media guy, I'm not," Rosen says. "It's just once every three weeks it's like, Hey, let's shake some s‑‑‑ up," Rosen says. "I like to be a real person and show personality. People appreciate that."
People do appreciate real. But you can be real and be respectful. I call BS on this guys personality. I see a lot of fake. A ton of childishness.

I'm sure there is another side to him. He does have talent, and appears to have a drive to succeed. But fake. Not real. Sorry @bluecoconuts I know you see otherwise from personal interaction. He just seems to do a real good job, so far, of presenting a different public image. Not the one you see. Maybe that's what he wants to show. But there it is. Again, he is young. Check back in a few years. He may grow up and act like a good 50-year-old.

He is much more likely to succeed in life than those who are for some reason "offended" by his, to me, innocuous comments.

Ironic. He actually seems to be the snowflake. Couldn't accept and respect the President. (Did UCLA have crying rooms? Bet they don't have them in Arizona) And he couldn't help himself, but to pout and insult the nine players drafted before him. Yeah. Snowflake.

I don't care what he says. I just see trouble for him unless he grows up pretty quick.

Different situation, and very different remarks. But Manning got spanked in the media, and rightfully so, for acting the way he did.

He got plenty of bad press and so did his father Archie since he was acting as Eli's mouthpiece sometimes.

Guys like Rosen sure make you appreciate the great players and personalities on the Rams. I can't think of one Rams player that's a jerk. Most, seem overly nice, until game time of course!

I think he is the best qb of this class but he is most definitely a D bag.

And in the end if you play well in this league it don't matter. Only matters if you fail, then you're dog meat.

Elway threatened to hold out for a year and reenter the draft if taken by a team he didn't like. Dude's a nut who sold his pool table after a friend beat him on it. Manning also played the "I don't want to go there" game in comments and whatnot. Hell, Favre is the kind of guy who is known for hittin on whoever he wants, sending pics of his chode to women he barely knows, etc and somehow the press never sold him out but he was a modern day Joe Namath.

Hall of Fame has plenty of douchebags at QB. Comes down to whether you can play at this level.

Not liking this AZ draft...at all.

I legit think the Cards could be the #2 in this division.

They had a good draft. Getting a potentially elite QB at ten is just stupid. Then they got Kirk, who had good value there and adds a nice young talent to their WR corps. Solid interior lineman they needed in Cole. Good possibilities on depth selections later.

Not really a surprise either. Their GM knows what he's doing.

IMO it's the smartest draft they've had probably since before Bruce Arians arrived. What does that tell you? It tells me that either Keim is getting better or Arians had too much influence in personnel decisions. It could be both of course.

I think they go 6-10

This is kid and Trump have pretty similar personalities IMO. I don't like either one. But both may end up being successful in their current endeavors. But I'll hope Rosen isn't as long as he's playing for the Cardinals.

See, when I got out of the Navy, legit I swore so much that I made most people uncomfortable and I didn't even notice it.

I was only in for a little over a year thanks to that POS doc who nearly killed me, but I took to the Navy like a duck to water. I truly loved it.

I've spent nearly 30 years trying to undo that one bad habit. That's how deep it went.

I was an elder at multiple churches, taught Sunday School and created and led my own Bible Study group. And... swearing was a real problem for me.

I'm much more...civilized...now, but I still swear. Moreover, I agree with George Carlin on swearing. I don't take the Lord's name in vain. That I don't do.

The rest? Moderation, brother. Moderation.

Lastly, I'm not about judging. That's not my place. The only reason I got involved in this is because of what I perceive to be a continued war on intelligence. I'm so done with stupid being elevated because some folks are intimidated...in every facet and walk of life. I'm so tired of smart being a pejorative unless it's stuffed in a "condom of civility".

Do I care if a QB is arrogant if he's a remarkable QB? not really. I'm sure his team would rather a QB who wins over a super sweet guy who throws INT after INT.

I know I'd rather have a super arrogant ass of a brain surgeon who's the best versus a super sweet guy who's not sure he can even do the surgery. I don't want to be able to have a beer with my neurosurgeon, I want him to solve my medical issue without scrambling my egg.

If we're really gonna discount feelings as being important (a massive mistake, imho), then I don't understand why expertise isn't elevated in the discussion.

Rosen was universally considered the most ready. He said some true, honest and not even controversial things...things about the NCAA and the metagame that affects student-athletes and rookies...and he's been vilified. I find that base and obtuse.

I find that far too many people find it totally acceptable to have uninformed opinions. @bluecoconuts ACTUALLY KNOWS HIM!!! Rather than rely on the impressions of someone with first-hand knowledge of the young man and his actual behaviors, we're gonna rely on reports either from vague sources or with questionable agendas? I just don't get that.

Note, I'm saying this about an opponent. This is about principle.

Actually, they're entirely different.

Also, Trump is like polonium in that he's poisonous and radioactive to civil discourse and the mere mention of his name is enough to begin the clock on locking a thread.

Just an FYI.
