He deserves it more than Moss or TO ... what did they ever do in big games? Bruce caught the winning TD in a Super Bowl.
This ^ along with his career stats, and finishing 2nd to Jerry Rice in career yards alone should put him in the Hall! It's not like two WR's haven't gone in in the same year before, so why not T.O. and BRUUUUCE!!?!

Is it touchdowns?
Or playoffs?

flv! you either forgot to use Blue Font, or you Drunk, or on Drugs, IF you think Bruce is a Borderline Candidate!!!
In 223 reg. Season games Bruce had 1770 Targets/ 1024 Receptions/ for 15,208 yds.( 2nd only to Jerry Rice when he retired!)/a 14.9 average/ 91 TD's/ a long of 80 Yards/ and averaged 4.6 Receptions per game and 68.2 Yards per game! and the doesn't include Post Season games!!

POST SEASON; Bruce Played in 9 games, had 83 Targets/ 44 Receptions/759 yds./ a 17.3 average/4 TD's/ a long of 77 Yds./ 4.9 Rec.Per Gm./ and averaged 84.3 Yds. per gm.! And one of those TD's was the Game Winning TD in the Super Bowl!

And If you Not convinced yet, let me add, He had 5 Seasons in which he was in the Top 10 in Receiving Yards, in 1995 he had 1781 Yards / in 1996 he was #1 and Beat Jerry Rice w/ 1338 Yards! the other years were 1999-2000-2001 GSOT years!

On 2nd thought maybe your right, he shouldn't be considered!

That's fair I suppose. But the HOF is based on a number of criteria that has nothing to do with how brilliant a route-runner a receiver is. If they had based it on just that, then Bruce would be first ballot. He's twice the route-runner Moss ever was, and IMO, markedly better at it than Owens. I think he has the numbers to get in, and the playoffs, and the touchdowns, and most importantly, the key catch in a Superbowl win. That play alone will solidify his (and Warner's) entry.

His numbers should be enough. But there are no guarantees.

Harold Jackson and Henry Ellard were 2nd and 3rd all time in receiving yards when they retired.
It really is unfair to put in newer guys because of better receiving stats and leave these guys out. Ellard was putting up modern day receiving numbers when good QBs threw for 2800 yards.

IMO Moss is the best WR ever to play not named Jerry Rice. He was amazing.

That TO isn't in is complete and utter BS.

He's a dickhead and that weighs his chances down..........doesn't bother me LOL.

and yet Lynn Swann is in there.

He should have to pay the cover charge to get in, he has no business being there, he wasn't even the best QWR on his team during the SB run the Steelers had.

I agree. Swann is in the HOF for his post season prowess and his SB catches that are immortalized. But the rest of his career is a bit meh.

Exactly!!!

I disagree. I'm not even sure i'd put Holt in the Hall if i was being completely impartial.

"Big Game" was a more suitable nickname for Bruce to be honest. Torry was a very good WR but i sometimes wonder what his career would have been like without Bruce on the other side. We already know that answer in terms of Bruce's production with no talent around him. He got it done no matter what the situation because he was a truly special player.

Wait, what?
When did Bruce have Ellard to protect him??
He caught 119 passes with the immortal Jessie Hester on the team....

Ellard and Bruce never played together in LA.

My argument is that Bruce was an all around better WR and clutch player than Holt, yes. Both have the numbers but as i mentioned before, i'm curious how Holt's career would have gone as the lone weapon on a bad team, later to be joined and surrounded by other great players. Bruce remained consistently productive despite his surroundings. Larry Fitzgerald fits that bill too.

It's possible that Holt would have dominated in LA from '94-'98 too, but in my opinion he doesn't because Bruce was a better WR and football player.
