Yeah hopefully McVay will get on the phone with the offensive genius of the Titans' brain trust this offseason and get learnt up...

C'mon, you gotta admit it was a ballsy call and not predictable.

Defense wins championships.
It does and it will this year too.

SF 18.8 ppg
GB 19.8 ppg
Tenn 19.8 ppg
KC 19.9 ppg

All four teams are sub-20 ppg allowed. Even KC is a top third defense.

It sure was. But the jibe vs our own coach is comical at best. You could call all manner of plays there to include the RB up the middle with a good chance of success because of their line. The call worked because the defense fears their run game.

Next year we're going to have a far better OL and McVay is going to look like a genius again. And the explanations will all be about how he's more creative, the new OC helped him get it done, etc., etc.

I like that. "Best team in the 2-minute defense."
Except when it matters.

I don't want to hijack this thread. But here is the list of the season points allowed and you can see the Chiefs are in the top third, due to 3 teams being tied at 19.8 points allowed. Used to be you wanted a sub-19 ppg defense to give yourself the best shot in the playoffs. Now it's moreso 20 ppg due to the rules changes favoring offense as it does.

KC has a very good defense. Just not good enough for the 9ers due to the need to stop their run game IMO.
