Ain’t no way the Rams can afford McGlinchy. Dude will get paid $$$

Since the premise is supposed to be without considering the $$$ aspect.

Jessie Bates S Cin
Nick Gates G NYG
Connor McGovern C NYJ
D’Onta Foreman RB Carolina

Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield QB I really hope neither would see any playing time in the coming year. The other players would be much more needed to make the Rams relevant.

Here is my wish list of (non-Ram) players who are set to be unrestricted free agents.

And, yes, I know that there may be players on this list who would be difficult to fit under the cap. I’m also aware that several of these players will be re-signed and won’t hit the market. That said, these are the guys who I’d want the most (and yes, this list, like good amplifiers, goes to eleven):

1. Orlando Brown, OT, Chiefs
2. Mike McGlinchey, OT, 49ers
3. Isaac Seumalo, G, Eagles
4. Javon Hargrave, DT, Eagles
5. Yannick Ngakoue, EDGE, Colts
6. Da’ron Payne, DT, Commodes
7. Ethan Pocic, C, Browns
8. Garrett Bradbury, C, Vikings
9. Nate Davis, OG, Titans
10. Connor McGovern, C, Jets
11. Jesse Bates, S, Bengals
I’d be happy with Seumalo, Hargrove, and McGovern.

It will be tough to find the cap to do more than that.

LT I still say is the biggest need by far or the offense will continue to sputter and Staffords career will end early....OLB is next on my opinion.

Unfortunately, as weak as our LTs are, our interior is worse.

If we don't upgrade our LT, I'd probably start Nsekhe for as long as he can hold up. He's a young 37 because he hasn't started much in his career, iinm.

Can you imagine THAT?!
Re-sign Gaines or ARob and that’s a serious nightmare for opposing offenses.

One would have to think there’s a lotta players who watched this SB and are thinking the same thing, especially those who lost in the playoffs.

Too bad the Rams are so cash strapped. Healthy, this team is a serious threat with a guy or two like Parsons joining up. Hargrave and Payne are FAs who could transform a DL in a hurry.

I want at least 1 FA for the OL. At least. And I want to invest a high draft pick there.

I am not messing around projecting better health as the fix. F that… we need a strategy that ensures the OL mess of 2022 doesn’t happen ever again.

He played on the franchise tag this year at near 17m, what will a 2nd tag cost? 21mil? Might be cheaper than signing long term
Found this:

"ORLANDO BROWN: 2ND TAG

COST: $19.9M (120% OF LAST YEAR'S TAG)

For a top contending team living right up against the cap every year, this certainly isn't the most ideal outcome, but Brown simply hasn't played like the $24M per year tackle he wishes to be contractually. A 2nd tag puts him on a 2 year, $36.5M spread across 2022-2023, which aligns much more with his calculated value - despite the lack of cap flexibility. With no blidside replacement on their roster, using the tag as a placeholder until KC can formulate more options is at least a safe starting point."........

24 mil a year ain't something the Rams can afford!!

Like Noteboom, didn’t Fisher also suffer a torn Achilles?

Agree. Too many times the pocket kept collapsing. When you watch the previous years of 27 -32 ppg we had a wide pocket and Stafford's focus was down the field instead of who is potentially going to end his career early like last year.

The LT keeps the Rams in the hunt a OLB strengthens the defense and hides some of deficiencies in the secondary.

Both are critical, plus a C or LG upgrade. A better #2 CB, and BU QB. If we do these 5 moves whether in FA or the draft we will be infinitely better than last year and in the playoffs imo.

I know the pocket collapsed frequently this year but to my memory it was mostly inside. Way more than the OT's. When it was pressure from the outside it was usually Big Robs guy. Not that we didn't get pressure over LT from time to time.

Definitely not. I wouldn't want to jeopardize an entire season on iffy LT ....it's one of the single most important positions on the field. Especially when your qb makes as much as he does and has as many miles on him as he does. I think guard we can make do with what we have especially if you have solid bookends. Nsekhe would be awesome back up or spot starter.

Yes but a lot of times if your tackle is weak it makes the guards have to compensate and opens up a free for all. Also if Bruss is even average that would be a help.
