I think Cooks' time with the team is done. He might play a few games this year. But he's not on the roster next year imo

He may be seriously considering retirement.

Cooks is a guy that knows life is bigger than Football.

It's time to pull the stashed rookie wide out & take him for some deep runs.

I wish the best for Cook but it sure looks like the writings on the wall to me. He needs to retire from the game & take some time off. In a year or so he feels its right for him to resume fine. But I sure would retire.

Rams will miss the little guy, his deep ball catches are excellent. It would be nice if Goff had the time to throw deep more often but not with this RG/RT/OC trio we have. So most passes go to very short to moderate range anyway. Reynolds & Thomas should be just fine filling in.

Wide Out unit without Cook
Woods 28/7
Kupp 26/ 3
Thomas 25/4
Natson 25/ 3
Reynolds 24/3
Webster 23/R

My guess is he wants to keep playing, but he is being told by specialists and others he shouldn't.

I don't think that the case if they are describing the doctor visits as "positive". Maybe the team and his family just wanted him to be extremely thorough after hearing that he can play again.

Hard for me to believe:
1. That any doctor would tell him to keep playing again after going unconscious twice in a month.
2. That after a doctor said he could play... he would go to another after hearing what he wanted to hear.

1. That would be the opposite of a positive visit.
2. That's exactly what you do when a doctor says you can play, but your family is still concerned.

Rams receiver Brandin Cooks returned to practice Friday as a limited participant.

Cooks will not play Sunday as he recovers from a second concussion this season. But he vowed Thursday that he would return to the field this season.

So Friday’s return to practice was a positive sign.

“He was a normal participant,” Rams coach Sean McVay said. “Part of the advice is just keep a normal rhythm and routine for him, staying active, avoiding some of those collision-type things. This has been part of the advice that wanted to follow, and it’s part of the plan to hopefully getting him back on the field.”

Cooks visited with a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh this week after a previous trip during the team’s Week Nine off week. Besides the two concussions this season, Cooks had a concussion last year against Seattle and another in Super Bowl LII in February.

So many people with doctorates on this site. lolzzzzzzzzzz.

If they say he can play and he'll be fine then he can play. simple.

It doesn't take a doctorate to know that multiple concussions are bad for a person. It also is obvious that just a few in a few weeks is even worse on the short term. So the doctorate comment is unwarranted. I'd be willing to bet that he didn't get a clean bill of health. It's more likely that the doctor knew he didn't want to quit playing and said, "If you insist on playing then at least follow these guidelines."

There isn't a single medical professional that would advocate for even a healthy person to play football, much less one with multiple concussions.

As much as some seem to think Cooks should retire, (I do) and would like his contract off the books, if he can return to playing at his best and our coaches and Oline get things figured out, Ill welcome his deep threat abilities with open arms. I said it earlier.....his speed was the only thing that gave the Patriots any trouble.

The hit that caused his latest concussion looked like a routine hit.

That’s a huge red flag.

He may want to keep playing, but it’s a powder keg for him, the Rams, and the league.

I wonder what cap relief the Rams get if Cooks retires. If it’s substantial, then I can see why they’d push for him to hang them up from a financial point as well.
