My only qualms with this trade will be solved if we can lock him up for a few years. With Woods, Kupp, a couple of up-and-coming TE's, Goff under center and Gurley behind him, this offense is going to be able to attack you anywhere on the field.

But damn, they've gotta get him locked up.

One of the other tweets included that they're already in talks to work out an extension.

So, unless the wheels fall off, he's likely to be extended prior to the draft which is sooner than I expected...

Dieter, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you also against the idea of trading for Beckham? Just curious, because if I'm right, we've disagreed both times.
Let me state why that is. Simply, I put more value in a proven player than a player who hasn't proven anything yet, a player who may be a risk. Which means, that you may put a little more value on a draft pick than I do. Which is all fine as we're free to have an opinion.
I would have loved OBJ. Wasn’t against that at all. I love getting Cooks.

Oh... BTW ... he beat all yawlz asses in arm wrestling.

I at least want to see deals for AD and LJ done ... then it's a no-brainer.

Even better, I'd like to see deals for AD, LJ, AND BC ... take care of Gurley and Goff in each of the next two years, and our offense will be set up for success for several seasons hence.

Don't forget Peters.

I have a really good feeling that he's gonna stay and be an anchor for WPs D.

Cooks is one the premier deep threats in the league glad to have him. I wanted to trade Tru for him last offseason.

Is it expensive? IMO only if they cant sign him long term. Added bonus of Cooks being cheaper than Odell more sustainable long-term cap wise.

But I love the move. Unlike Sammy he gets a whole offseason to work with Goff, so they can get on the same page. I dont think people realize how crucial Sammy was to the overall scheme. Cooks gives the Rams someone who can fit into that role seamlessly. Even though Cooks isn't as big as Sammy I think he is little more versatile. I love the addition even at that price.

Some of us have been pointing out that without Watkins or another real deep threat the passing game takes a big hit. Not surprised McVay saw that as our biggest roster hole and has now totally fixed it with the best deep threat available. This was an essential move imo. Value in a trade is subjective. We needed this and got it done.

Major head scratcher for me, really hoping he outperforms Watkins

that won't be hard. just by adjusting to a few of the deep throws he will probably double watkin's output.

Blows me away how often Brees underthrew him and he still made the play. Like a LOT...

all of those balls to sammy would have been incompletions.
