Corum continues to look good out there - as does KW.

The split feels like it is getting closer to 50/50 - maybe 60/40

Are there situations where we trust one more than the other? KW may still have the edge on short yardage situations and may be a bit of a better pass blocker still? I like seeing them both getting plenty of meaningful snaps myself.

Feels like they trusted Corum more on the ground today to me, due to his better ball security? And KW more when they needed to pass block, but with KW also being the red zone back? Hopefully, it does not become a "tell".

KW had 14 Carries and 2 targets
Corum had 13 Carries.

Seems hard to tell anything from that on paper.

27 runs to 39 passes today - technically 36 passes and 30 runs but 3 runs were Stafford scrambles on pass plays.

I think it’s pretty hard to get a read based on personnel groupings these days.

I haven't been the biggest Blake Corum fan and have been vocal about that here. Earlier this year I felt he was starting to emerge, then he had the big fumble against the 9ers in the 1st game and that set me back in my comfort with him.

Today for the first time, I felt comfortable with him and fully relaxed on the long 2nd half drive when KW was resting. We have a legit 1-2 punch. Props to Corum!

I totally agree. Where KW shines is with his vision; Corum with his shiftiness & suddenness. Great 1-2 combo.
And JH is prolly licking his chops for an opportunity--if we have a lead in the 3rd / 4th Q I'd love to see him vs. some gassed D's.

Williams is way better than Corrum.... All Corrum does is run into people.
not sure if you are being sarcastic here

Corrum makes defenders miss with his agility most of the time.

But yesterday he plowed over not 1, but 2 niners on a big gain

I think he's slow (much slower than Williams), has no vision, not a great blocker and has ten thumbs to this point in his career. I noticed the offense went a bit stale in the 2nd and 3rd quarter when Corrum was in the game getting most of the Reps.

Corum ran a 4.53 at the combine while Kyren ran a 4.65. Not only that but I think you’re the only one I’ve seen that says Corum is slower than Williams.

I like KW better for various reasons, one of the biggest being his pass blocking. He kept Stafford clean several times yesterday. His pass blocking is truly elite. Corum on the other hand has what appears to be a better short area burst

Bottom line is that there’s not much of a drop off with either one. Having a two back rotation keeps KW fresh without giving up much in return.

Corum seems to be easier to take down for a loss but gets yards quicker. Williams is a little battering Ram that has a real nose for the end zone.

That’s a pretty good combination and hopefully a fresher Kyren is less prone to fumbles in bad situations.

I just feel that Williams should always be in the game inside the 10 yard line (as long as he doesn't fumble anymore).

When Corum was inside the 10, he couldn't do the tough yardage that Williams can do.

Corum is a great change of pace back that can get some chunk yards to the outside with his speed better than KW. Williams is still our best overall RB and a top 5 RB in the redzone. I've really liked the way McVay has been using them this year and don't think we need to change anything at this time.

Williams is better at getting yards when things are congested and he will usually get a higher minimum gain on his runs. EG a run that gains 5 yards for Williams, Corum may only get 3. On a typical 3-yard gain for Williams, Corum may get stuffed for 0-1.

However, Corum will get more yards in the open field than Williams. If Corum gets some daylight, he will usually outgain what Williams can get.

Williams overall is definitely the best all round back IMO. Willaims is hands down a better pass protector and I much prefer to see him in the game when the offense gets inside the 10 or on crucial passing downs. Neither RB sets the world on fire when it comes to pass catching but Corum has the better high yardage potential if he get a pass in open space.

Blake getting more touches is good for Willaims durability so no complaints about the current usage.

good points!!!!

Especially touching on Williams durability... He looked a little worn out during last seasons playoffs.

To me they are both very similar. In build and running styles. Lower to the ground and strong legs. They're both quick and shifty. Both run with power. And neither is a homerun hitter that can break off a 60 yard TD.

They do offer one thing as a team. Fresher legs when rotated evenly. Can wear down defense late in games.

Williams does have the edge as a 3 down back with his blocking ability. So it makes sense it should be a 60/40 split with him carrying a larger load.

The Rams have two nice RBs and I like them...

But.. I just wonder what this offense would look like with a top-tier talent at RB.. it would just be unfair to the league, at this point.
Something I've been thinking about the last few weeks given the new development of such great efficiency out of 13 personnel.

What would have the biggest inpact: a top tier RB or a dynamic speedy WR?

Right now, I'm leaning towards that WR.
