Barnes biggest value is protection calls, but his run blocking has been consistently bad he is just ok in pass protection.

Best case scenario Rhaney runs away with this. Goff is comfortable with him because he is the 2nd team center.

We also really need Jamon Brown healthy, Gurley had his best day running the ball when he was healthy. Wichman isn't giving us anything.

Rams C Tim Barnes (foot) did not practice at all this week and is questionable for Sunday. If he can't go, Demetrius Rhaney will probably make his first NFL start, snapping to Jared Goff. DE Robert Quinn (illness), DE Eugene Sims (concussion) and CB Lamarcus Joyner (ankle) are also questionable, but were all full participants on Friday. Todd Gurley (thigh) was limited today, but didn't show up on the injury report prior to that. Also questionable, but yeah, playing.

Gonzalez, ESPN Staff Writer

In today's NFL, Questionable on Friday means decent chance to play on Sunday. Look for Barnes to give it a go on Sunday.

Dolphins at Rams

The Dolphins are likely to be down two starting offensive linemen with T Branden Albert (wrist) out and C Mike Pouncey (hip) doubtful. CB Xavien Howard (knee) is also out and LB Jelani Jenkins (knee, hand) is doubtful. S Isa Abdul-Quddus (ankle), T Jermon Bushrod (shoulder), LB Mike Hull (knee), DE Jason Jones (knee), WR Jarvis Landry (shoulder), G Anthony Steen(neck), WR Kenny Stills (calf) and DE Mario Williams (ankle) got questionable designations on Friday.
--------------------------------
The Rams listed C Tim Barnes (foot), RB Todd Gurley (thigh), CB Lamarcus Joyner (ankle), DE Robert Quinn (illness) and DE Eugene Sims (concussion) as questionable, although Barnes didn’t practice at all this week.

Like @Young Ram said, I don't expect the exchange to be a problem because Rhaney and Goff have been working together in practice. where the problem with the New Center comes is with Rhaney calling the Offensive line play, reading the "D"!!
It's going to be a problem when SUH blows up Rhaneys ass and crushes the pocket countless plays not giving the kid time. God I hope I'm wrong but something tells me I'm not.

Positive thing is Barnes is only listed as questionable. I pray he is able to go tomorrow!

OC would be one of the top priorities for me in this upcoming offseason.

Here is what I could see happening, if it does. Dave McGinnis currently Assistant Head Coach retires and QB Coach Chris Weinke and Offensive Line Coach Paul Boudreau are relived of their duties. Rams hire Mike Shanahan as Assistant Head Coach/Offense and allow Mike to bring in his choice of QB Coach and OL Coach.

Fisher and Mike Shanahan are close and led to the RG III deal and that way Boras and Mike Grohl can learn under Shanahan and keep their titles as well. I don't believe Fisher would fire Boras, but he did fire Tim Walton when he knew he could land Gregg Williams so I could see him firing Boras, if he's able to land Shanahan and thus Shanahan becomes the Offensive Coordinator.

I believe Shanahan takes the gig because of his relationship with Fisher and I am hoping Mr. Kroenke pays him very well, IMO, that will seal the deal.

Tim Barnes is one hell of a young man......he will not miss starting this Sunday's game if he can stand on that Ankle. Not having Tim Barnes in the line up for Goff to lean on would be a disaster for him. Seems that many here have serious issues with TB's play over the first half of this season with many members clearly naming TB as the top of the list of starting OL'ers who need to be replaced..........count me out of that cadre I want absolutely no association with that thought.

TB is the best overall starting center we have had in the lineup since Andy McCollum knee gave out back in 2006. I understand being upset with this UDFA who has been working hard for many years on his job for long time to earn this position & he was not handed this position based on how high he was selected in the NFL draft or how many millions he was paid to play either. This economy low balled paid center has held on hard & pulled the toll rope of this offense as well as any other high paid & highly college awarded other OL'ers that he is in charge of getting lined up right each and every play.

I am fully aware that this OL has under performed greatly this half season & would certainly point left of where TB plays as being the main two problems with this OL fail mode but I'll say right now if TB is cut bait he will end up starting quickly elsewhere in the NFL where the other Ram left side OL's would fair worse. I have never met Tim Barnes but I sure would like to meet him someday & say ....THANKS! I would also aim most of my attention to the supervisor  who is in charge :admin:of this 11 player OL unit this season.

Man. I hope that comes true Den. Mike Shanahan would be a hell of a hire at OC. That man knows football and how to get the most out of players. OL coach Boudreau's coaching has left a lot to be desired. I fear he's lost his effectiveness, wheather its because of the age gap or whatever, he appears to be unable to coach this OL up. Shanahan is a proven winner with a ton of experience and I'm certain he can upgrade the Rams offense and OL. Rams need to quit hiring rookies at OC.
