The more I learn, the more I like. I see logic and planning.

We all knew that getting rookie starters was limited to a LB or two, and even there probably not until midseason, at best. I mean, pick #89 was our starting line, dammit!

What I also see now is intense competition just to make the 53 at multiple position groups because of this draft and UDFA. Always a good thing and common on playoff rosters.

DL
LB
OL
RB

At this point we need to leave every player on the table as a possibility. I will go so far as to predict that we should expect the unexpected.

I strongly suspect that both Kromer and Wade were given wide latitude in prioritizing these draft picks (plus Scales). IOW, these will be the first players that are truly “theirs”. I wouldn’t underestimate how these players might fit within the respective schemes. Not yet, anyway.

I don’t think that the previous paragraph can be overstated.

Gonna be fun to watch how this sorts itself out over the summer.

For the last 14 years, the Rams have gone into the draft looking for players to fill starter holes, until the 2018 draft. Even at LB, the Rams had depth enough to field a competent starting group. Ebukam, Barron, Littleton, Longacre). Every other position group on both offense and defense had starters in place.

What a turnaround from years past. For the first time in 14 years the Rams could concentrate on improving roster depth and look to the future by drafting prospects they can develop. This is what perennial winning teams get to do.

All kinds of draft grades have been thrown around by the talking heads and sports outlets giving he Rams form A to D. Of course it remains to be seen how these picks turn out. IMHO this class may not prove its grade for another couple of season and that earns the Rams a good grade. None of these players have to be rushed into service.

Training Camps is going to be very interesting and a ton of fun. Already making my plans to be there every day, and post my observations however biased ( I have players I like a lot, and some not so much)

On to OTA's

Go Rams!

Man, I wish you could somehow triple clone yourself for these camps, bubba. Then you could be all over every position group at all times.

Can’t wait for your outstanding camp reports, man.

The final roster will be interesting. Will standbys Hager, Fox, Neary etc.. make the cut?

Rams made good choices in draft picks. I was still hoping for a big time edge rusher early in the draft. They still may have got one as they made lot's of picks and UDFA signings. They did add depth to a team with limited question marks at the starter positions.

Look forward to those reports again. Will keep everything in context. Wish camp was starting next week!

Hager should not make the cut. Neary probably cut and Fox maybe cut.

....count the tackles behind the line on new Seahag Rashawn Pennny in this video. Undrafted, unsigned. 112 tackles led the team. 14.5 tfl-3rd in MWC. (Vander Esch had 8). Great football instincts.

Hoping to get a minicamp invite. He has earned a tryout, I hope.

Edit: I count 2.5 plus another 1 at the LOS

Competetition is going to be fierce asf this year especially for those final roster spots! Its going to be interesting to say the least! Super Bowl teams have competitive rosters like this.

I honestly think this could be the strongest overall roster the Rams have EVER had. In my 45ish years of following them, I can't remember a stronger team. They had some great stars in the 70's and 80's and the GSOT, but not top to bottom, like this. There has always been a weakness.

Until now.

I like the FA grabs, 6th rounders, and UDFA. 1st rounders are for QB, and RB which we are already covered for the next half decade. Said before good trend. I approve and

We got good prospects via draft, but we got solid starters via FA. Win Win

I have to admit, Snead did a good job at acquiring depth, especially depth that can contribute this season and beyond. Add in the players we already have, and I can't recall a time where we had so much positive depth up-and-down the roster.

There's a problem here. When @bubbaramfan and I meet up at camp this season, I know we will have a hard time watching practice between the beers and lies we tell each other (we like to call them war stories from our army days). Each day last year that we met up, we promised each other that we would focus on practice this time. That lasted about 10 minutes.

So maybe us camp attendees should be given assignments from ROD like a regular beat reporter. "Vet, you cover the D line today. Bubba, you take the WR group". Can't promise we will follow through but it's a start!

Well, you’re another camp reporter that I read intently, Vet.

Both of you two provide insight that is mostly lacking from the beat reporters.

However...

I can definitely understand why two dedicated fans would not want to be thirsty or risk dehydration on a hot summer day. Lol.
