You’d think so. You’d hope so.

They addressed helping the offense with the CB additions. They may go defense heavy again in draft.

I really hope they aren’t sitting on the #1 offense ranking from last year. I doubt they are. I think McVay knows his offense lacks speed, athleticism and explosives.

I think Tyson will be there at #13.
Agreed, the offense did sputter at times but you still finished #1. Adding Adams made a huge difference in the offense being more successful so I feel like adding another weapon would elevate it to damn near undefendable. I'd love for teams to feel that so they feel pressured that they have to score on every drive. That attitude along with our improvement in the secondary would probably lead to even more turnovers.

Les Snead tells us every year he doesn't ever want to go into the draft having to spend his first pick(s) for needs. He told us after getting 2 CB that he's got us in that spot. He can and will draft anybody at any position and he and Sean don't need to rush them on to the field and get immediate production from them. That desire for immediate impact is a fan perception not a McSnead one.

But Verse was our last 1st round pick and was put on the field immediately because we needed more pass rush because AD retired so not really true :laugh2: :laugh4:

Nah I'm sure he's the pick, I'm just trying to be nice to u hahaha

You'd think fans would pick up on their pattern of drafting for the future almost every year.

Demarcus Robinson. Had a very good year in ‘24 as WR3
7 TD’s 500+ yds including big plays.

Generally speaking they replaced his production with the cadre of TE’s and 13 personnel.

WR3 was basically a non factor last season. I wonder if having subpar pass catchers behind Puka and Adams triggered 13 personnel or it was just McVay evolving to stay fresh in terms of scheme.

It’s possible the Rams aren’t even looking at WR3 for the upcoming season. It’s also possible they are, and have a plan to get back to more 11 personnel.

I mean, you look objectively at our TE’s and you’ve got an old Higbee with durability issues, an inconsistent Parkinson who got a lot of targets, a young Ferguson who was just okay, and Allen who is a depth piece.

The room has depth but no one special at this point.

It’ll be interesting to see how this draft may affect scheme next year. If they draft Tyson or Lemon or Cooper jr, I don’t think they’ll sit on the bench just so McVay can run 13 personnel.

When our WR3 has been more than JAG, we have run 11 personnel.

Totally agree that if we draft a WR#3, they'll get lots of play for sure. I think it would be wise to do so because it allows the Rams to attack teams with multiple formations. Some teams may be able to defend the 13 personnel better this upcoming year thanks to film study. It's good to be able to run both 11 and 13 imo.

Before I read this I was going to post something similar - Rams don’t draft for "need" or "who will make an immediate impact". It's strictly BPA for round 1 and probably even 2 and 3.

If Lemon interviewed well with the Rams, then I would want Lemon. His interview with the press scares me though.
I think the Lemon noise is smoke. Get the feeling the Rams trade up for Tate or down and grab KC Concepcion

I'd break my foot running to the stage to throw in Bain's card.

Dominate blue chip player who falls due to one defect (think Donald's size) is how you get a generational player at 13.

Granted, there is a chance he isn't that good due to the arms (I won't call it a bust cause I think you really need to offer nothing as a player for that to be the case) but that's exactly what you do at 13.

You take a guy who's fallen (especially who has a high motor and is tops as far as work ethic) and swing for the fences.

You don't even necessarily trade Young since we'd let him walk anyways next year and get a good comp pick.

You send pass rushers in waves. It will be beautiful.
Depends on if he was honest to the Rams about the careless driving incidents. He was the driver in that cost someone their life. I was in on Bain before that. Now? I'm not so sure they draft him at all if he wasn't forthright about it to them (every team knew about it, and while the passenger's family didn't blame him for her death, and while the charge was thrown out as a "defective citation", if he wasn't honest about any of it, that might end up dropping him more than his short arms).

If he was honest, absolutely, we should draft him if he falls, but I'm not so sure that he was because there's supposedly another careless driving citation he was facing from 2025 (also dismissed with defective citation).

It's more than a little concerning that he's still driving carelessly after someone in his car died from the first time.

Proof Positive

A CB would get some snaps. The question is, how many? I'd bet right now that whoever we draft at CB would likley be CB4 with Forbes as CB3. I didn't feel that's the impact you're speaking about pertaining to putting us over the top.

McVay tends to favor vets. I don't see Sadiq displacing Higbee in year 1.

Truth be told, nearly every year we overestimate how immediately impactful rookies will be. With our team as stacked as it is, with this draft as weak as it is, I feel we have to be prepared for the draftees to start off as depth.
I think delane would overtake Forbes immediately. Probably McCoy as well.

Our team is really good. It's not flawless though. I'd rather have guys who can play this year. We'll see though. One week left.
