Well, anyone have any vids of Villari's arm. How strong is it ? He is big for a QB and should have a strong arm.
Could make for some interesting gadget plays.
Yeah, no one complains about Caleb Williams size as he is a "slight" 6'-1", but listed at 225 lbs. Heck, he was drafted #1 overall and not sure he was 225 when he came out. I think Simpson could get to 220 or so and then what is the issue for him in regards to size?Big guy doesn’t mean strong arm. Baker Mayfield might have the biggest arm in the NFL right now. Brees had a big arm. Those dudes are tiny compared to most. Rex Grossman, Caleb Williams. Brett Farve. Vick had a cannon. Dieter Brock….this is off the dome but all these guys are 6’0-6’1 (with the exception of Farve, who was listed as 6’2)
There’s a lot more that goes into it than size.
He is a big dude and his arm should have plenty strong enough for some trick plays.Big guy doesn’t mean strong arm. Baker Mayfield might have the biggest arm in the NFL right now. Relax lol I don't think he meant it like that but I was considering making the same response. Especially considering how a lot of people assumed Simpson had a weak arm just because he was 6'1 but the tape showed that wasn't the case. A lot of people also assumed Sean Mannion had a strong arm when we drafted him because he was 6'6 but that wasn't the case either. He is a big dude and his arm should have plenty strong enough for some trick plays.
And....... next time, don't talk down to people. You think I do not know that stuff ?
At the combine, Caleb Williams measured in at 6 ft 1+1⁄8 in, 214 lbs, Simpson 6 ft 1+1⁄8 in, 211 lbs.Yeah, no one complains about Caleb Williams size as he is a "slight" 6'-1", but listed at 225 lbs. At 6' 4" and 240+ I gaurantee he does not have a Pat Haden arm. Might be useful For trick plays.Relax lol I don't think he meant it like that but I was considering making the same response. I'd be ecstatic if Ty could get to a functional (I mean he could just eat donuts and put on fat) 220 but I have doubts. Hopefully he can get to 216 - about 5 lbs of mostly muscle weight. This is not necessarily easy for certain frames and body types and he was already in one of the top weight programs in the country that probably got close to maxing him out.Yeah, no one complains about Caleb Williams size as he is a "slight" 6'-1", but listed at 225 lbs. Stafford is listed at 6-3 215, so that makes him a thinner build than Simpson is now. And yes, I know Stfford was a fat faced kid when he came out, probably in the 220's, but right now Simpson is more thickly built than the 38 yr old MVP.I'd be ecstatic if Ty could get to a functional (I mean he could just eat donuts and put on fat) 220 but I have doubts. And as a QB, he also can't put too much muscle on his upper body or it will affect his throwing motion.
Wow! I am so sorry I used the word "slight" when I was comparing him to a HOF 4 time SB Champion. Brought out the junkyard dog with a bone in some. Now we're simply using a height to weight ratio without any consideration of build to claim he's more thickly built than #9? LMFAO!!! The horse latitudes of the off season has definitely arrived!!!
Caleb is "heavy in the ass" and (upper) legs that Simpson doesn't possess, that accounts for those extra 10 or so pounds. Of course we're counting on the fact that Simpson's brain and accuracy overcomes that deficit.Yeah, no one complains about Caleb Williams size as he is a "slight" 6'-1", but listed at 225 lbs. You sure it's not all the extra cash?Caleb is "heavy in the ass" and legs ... that accounts for those extra 10 or so pounds.
Yeah i agree, 6'1" and 215 is probably where it ends for Ty. Obviously Snead and McVay do not see a problem with this and were ecstatic to get him so....I'd be ecstatic if Ty could get to a functional (I mean he could just eat donuts and put on fat) 220 but I have doubts. Uhh yeah... look at the lower body here i.e. quads, hamstrings, calves. #15 is 100% more thickly built than #9 at this point in their careers.
Don't really see why you would take that as a slight (no pun intended) against Stafford who is likely focusing on lean muscle and flexibility to stay healthy as an older athlete vs Simpson who is building as much muscle mass as possible while he's young.

I mean, weight is a bit like the 40 time. Poor indicator of things. How much is fat, how much is muscle, where is it being held.Stafford is listed at 6-3 215, so that makes him a thinner build than Simpson is now. 215 isn't just 215. Kid is small. Let's see what happens.
I will say, people have no clue what 5lbs of muscle (if it's muscle - again weight isn't a great measure of things!) - actually looks like when it is put on.
It's comical if you ask me!!!!I mean, weight is a bit like the 40 time. Poor indicator of things. How much is fat, how much is muscle, where is it being held.

All that being said, I think 215 is a bit of a threshold for QBs holding up reasonably well in the NFL.It's comical if you ask me!!!!
"Look at the size of Simpson's thighs. He's way thicker than Stafford!!!"
"Look at the rigidness of his pecs!!! He's way more muscular than #9!!!!"
You say the kid is small. I don't want to pile on so I'll just say, "he ain't big".![]()
