As comparison, I wonder how Earnest Jones, Landman and Reeder did in the 3 cone drill. Agility/Change In direction is what we are missing badly at LB.

I'm hoping Lemon is off the board before we pick at 13. Strong prospect but not what this offense needs. We're good in the slot with Nacua moving into that role probably full time in 2026. If they add wideout early it needs to be a sideline catch radius type with great hands. Otherwise go defense, there are going to be defenders in that BPA conversation at 13.
Nacua doesn't just play slot and he already was majority slot (but like 60%) last two years. Nacua also plays Z (I can't think of a time I saw him in an X position but wouldn't surprise me if there were a handful of X after motion). Lemon makes a lot of plays from the slot but should also be able to play Z. While he's not the receiver I would make in a lab to start for the Rams (probably a dedicated X followed by a more dedicated Z), Lemon is probably good enough that you can mix and match him slot to Z and with the motion on our team, so much of slot and Z is interchangeable, X less so.

Lemon's not my ideal fit (what is) but he's great and would be happy to have him and really don't think it's as much a square peg in a round hole. I don't think we'll ever see Nacua's slot distribution climb beyond 70% even if he's used mainly there so there's room to play around with his usage and he's fantastic at Z too.

For me, it's a happy to take Lemon at 13 but wouldn't trade up.

The most impressive thing about his game is his blocking, McVay is going to love that too. Does he make sense as a target after we just took his former teammate Ferguson with our first pick last year? Maybe... if we're really going to lean into 13 personnel for the foreseeable future.
If this team believes Fergy can really grow into the Y TE position (I was a bit skeptical) than I think you absolutely look at taking him if he makes it to 29 (not sure I would trade up). 13 personnel is set going forward but would expect an increase in 12 in general.

Earnest Jones 3-Cone Drill, 7.49s

Nate Landman 6.88 seconds in the three-cone drill

Troy Reeder At his pro day, he recorded a 3 cone L drill of 7.0

I'm not the biggest Lemon fan and think he's a tad overrated for our team for some reason (yes I know, probably not a popular opinion). I could most definitely be wrong but it's just my gut feeling I guess lol. I too want a more physical built WR but we'll see.

That’s not what I saw. My post a few above your has Landman at a 7.05 three cone

Disagree. If they believe Lemon can be an elite WR, take him. What this offense needs are guys who produce yardage and TDs. Doesn't matter how they do it. Just make sure the WR can eat against man coverage. Because Puka destroys zone.

I would add that Puka became a weapon this year against man finally which has been great! (I think we can thank Adams for some of that but a lot is probably Puka putting in the time as far as route running and leverage goes). He's pretty close to being as complete a receiver now as one can be.

Still, Lemon seems pretty useful against man so I tend to agree, if he's there at 13 grab him. I just don't want to spend capital going after him.

Nacua was in the slot considerably more last season. So I think it's a perfectly reasonable assumption that will be his role in 2026.

There are many options at wideout in this class. In fact there will probably be a wideout among the ones who slot from let's say 10-40 who ends up being elite at this level.

Nothing against Lemon, who is a fine wideout. But he's gonna be a slot in the NFL and there are options with upside who project better in the role we will need from them.

Note that I don't necessarily think McVay shares my opinion on this. I am sure if he's there at 13 he has a strong chance to be our pick. I just wish they'd go another direction.

Agree, and this isn't just hyperbole. Arguably 2 of our biggest needs CB & WR are as deep as they have been in awhile in this class

CB Chris Johnson looks very smooth in the drills and posted a 4.4 40. Very impressive. Could be a target at 29 unless he moves up higher than that. I know some here were touting him weeks ago. The dude looks like a player as his numbers & drills match the tape.

Here's a chart comparing 2026 LBers with some pros.

My observations:
LBers are listed by 3Cone time - -
-Rodriguez' times/PFF scores jump at you
- Styles is ridiculous, but quickness?
- Good coverage LBers are hard to find
- Jones, Landman, Speights don't cover well
- Dolac's numbers look pretty good - does he start at some point?
- Where is Reeder's 4.14 shuttle from? - I don't see that in games
- Especially since 49ers are in our division and "short pass" us to death, why don't we have a LBer that can cover really well?

- Reeder is rated one of the best ST players in the NFL. He's staying no matter how many posters . . .

That's why I said a tad overrated about him. I think he's solid but I don't think he's some special WR. His tape didn't necessarily wow me.... guess I just want a WR that is bigger and faster to put that pressure on D's. If we do draft him, I'd love to be completely off base as its more of a gut feeling that he won't be this crazy special WR in the pros.

He said he is interested in playing for the Rams. Keeps him close to home.
