That's why I didn't put it in the celebration thread.

Acknowledging what you point out.. I'm still a little concerned.

The good news? Seattle's passing game wasn't great today. Let's keep that going.
The only issues IMO are what we've known all year. A CB1 and an ILB that can cover. Add that and the D is elite. Unfortunately we have to wait until next year for those.

Not to pee on today's vibes... It was not, in any way, an overwhelming defensive performance. They are going to have to bring it WAAAAAY harder next week to beat the Seahawks.

That's gonna be a hell of a game.
I don’t think Sheattles Oline is near as good. We’ll see but not only are we going to get to Darnold but we’re not going to give them a bunch of cheap points.

Our defense will always struggle to some degree against Shanahan. He is just so damn good and clearly always gets up for these games.

I don't think that's indicative of our defense as a whole. Landman had a few good run stops, TFLs and the fumble - he also gave up at least two TDs today. I don't expect that to happen much

Just stop Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Their offense runs through him. They'll try to run clock as well with their running backs.

Personally, I hope this is the game we bring out McCreary, give him some defensive snaps, put him on JSN in the slot and Forbes on him outside. Just shadow him, even if we have to bring safety help.

Actually it was a great game. The Whiners didn't run all over us and we beat Shanahan and his offense. Held CMC to 3 ypc or less. Celebrate a win we don't usually get IMO.

The defense did a great job keeping CMC in check. He wasn't running free and Jone's safety valve was covered most of the day. Rat boy's gameplan was to throw short passes but the Rams were better prepared. And the beauty was everytime they scored and thought they had life, Stafford and the offense socked them back in the face.

This was a good old fashioned ass kicking. We led 21-0 with TDs on our first 3 possessions, then when they got within 7 to start the second half, we scored TDs on our first 3 possessions of the second half. Ass kicking.

CMC had 2.6 ypc, same as the first game. 2 games, 2.6 ypc. Awesome.

I must admit, that would be more impressive if he didn't average 2.9 ypc vs. Jacksonville, 3.1 ypc vs. Seattle, Arizona & Houston, and 3.2 ypc. vs. Tampa. McCaffrey may be just about done as a runner.

Brian Robinson was gashing the defense.

Jax #6 vs the run; Seattle #4 vs the run, Houston #3 vs the run; Tampa #11 vs the run, Rams #9 vs the run. And 2.6 is better than any of them. Twice makes it even more impressive. The outlier is Arizona #18.

Hope we can get the pass rush going this week agains Seattle. It's the key to beating the hawks.
Arizona got to him once. But they are only 25th in sacks (18). We are #8 in sacks with 27 so hopefully we'll fair a little better. Perhaps the bigger question is, can we keep them from sacking Stafford? They have 32 sacks, #2 in the NFL.

Agree. I'd love to use the two 1st round picks for those two positions, but we don't know if Stafford is a sure thing next year so I just don't know if they can put off the QB pick. I'm discouraged, though, because I don't see a sure-fire tier-1 QB for whom I'd use two 1st round picks! I'm still a fan of Sellers. I'd be reluctant to use the Falcons pick for him but I';m not sure if he'd be there later. If they had the balls to wait, they could go CB/LB/OT with the first 1st rounder and 1st second-rounder.

There's an ILB i love from Texas Tech who's projected right now around pick 150. And to me this seems like a very good top end CB draft so it should be interesting.

If inside the 10 and the top dogs are gone, I would trade down a bit for another second round pick.

Or another '27 #1!
Sure. Probably could get a 2026 4th and 5th along with a 2027 1st for a top 10 pick. Strengthen the roster even further and get the QB in the next draft. If Stafford continues the way he is playing into 2026, what is a 2026 first round rookie going to learn from watching him...."I could never do that on my best day"? Could be more detrimental for a 2026 kid.

Only issue is that we might not get a higher 2027 pick than we’re likely getting with Atlanta. This is our best shot to get a QB of the future to learn from Stafford.

Or, we might get a higher pick. Absolutely no way to know at this point.
