Enjoyed that. :thumbsup1:

First of why would McVay have to take a pay cut to give Shula more money?

Secondly the same thing was said about Staley leaving and here we are. One of McVays very underrated abilities is him continuing to churn out good coaches.
Yeah to suggest that shows a complete lack of understanding of the Rams. Also it shows that the poster is incapable of understanding or appreciating what we are seeing in this era.

Owners who don't know football freak out over losing asst coaches who do a great job. This is what led to the quick dismantling of the GSoT when the Rams shitty front office and owner effectively pressured Vermiel out. If you're dumb on ball even your windows where things go right are going to be shortened.

Under McVay we see the complete opposite. An ability in fact to replace top coordinators and continue competing at the highest level. Because since McVay has come onboard the Rams have had the right mentality with the asst coaches, they are elite schematically in spite of it every year, and they get the most from the talent brought in.

So... guys... we know he's a troll, right? I mean.. COME ON! lol

Anyway... I get a weird feeling Shula will not get a gig this offseason.. but, that could change, based on the team's ultimate success this year.

But, yeah... Pleasant would likely step in, imo.

11 weeks in and we're a top 3 defense, giving up 17.2 ppg. This is elite coordination by Shula thus far. Also his defense last season put up 22.3 ppg (15th) in 2024, with largely the same level and mix of players. Major difference this year is the improvement in run defense, and thus an ability to put offenses into third and long. Last season the Rams gave up 4.9 ypc (29th). This season they are giving up 3.9 ypc (T-4th).

This is an elite defense. No idea if they'll crack in the pressure cooker of the playoffs, that's the final grade metric for all units on both sides of the ball. But when you play the Rams defense you're in for a long day.

Also Shula's gonna get a lot of HC interviews this offseason.

He's at the very least a clueless casual fan who stepped into a world where saying dumb shit doesn't end well. But yeah he may just be a troll from another board. It is hard to believe he could be that clueless about our team, even as a casual.

Losing Shula is going to impact the Rams more than you think.

Defensive teams on the average win more Super Bowls, and I feel McVay needs a strong defensive presence so that he has more room for error, as we witnessed last Sunday. And what we saw in our 2022 Super Bowl run with the great defense we had.

To me it shows you're incapable of seeing a different view besides your own..... clueless comes in many forms.

I'm not saying anyone is wrong or is clueless for their view, and all those points are well absorbed, but one has to admit Shula has done a lot with very little. Those types of coaches are difficult to find, if not impossible to replace.

For the 2nd year-in-a-row, the largest salary-cap-hit by a Rams' defensive player is the retired Aaron Donald.

Donald's $9.6M cap hit is $500,000 more than Darious Williams. The next highest is Poona Ford ($5M).
Do you know, if this is the FINAL season we endure a Donald cap hit?

I read that he was going to be a 20 mil cap hit when he retired so the Rams split it to 11 mil in 2024 and 9 mil in 2025, so that would make a 0 cap hit in 2026. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes ... according to Over-the-Cap and Spotrac. Both are excellent and easy to navigate cap sites.

As of right now, the Rams have a miniscule $500,000 (chump change to @Loyal) of Dead-$ for 2026.
That amount will Absolutely, Positively, No-Doubt-About-It, increase.
BTW, the Rams have $53M in Dead-$ this season ... mostly from Kupp, Donald, Noteboom and Jonah Jackson.
