Dont recall saying that he wouldnt request a trade, saying that he wont be traded to the Rams.
It's just silly
But hey maybe the Rams will find a superstar QB working in a Hy-Vee supermarket again
Just to break it down; and be clear. This was never a simple Burrow-to-the-Rams Prediction.

It was a Football Discussion related to a rare situation of a Truly Elite QB on a consistent losing team.

My primary thought was that Joe Burrow could well seek a change AFTER the 2026 Season.

My secondary thought was that, provided 2026 was four straight non-playoff seasons AND Burrow wanted out, WITH the cap implications LESS onerous, Mike Brown and the Bengals could well pursue trade options.

My third thought was that IF Cincinnati was agreeable to a trade, Brown and the Bengals would Probably want to get him out of the Conference AND it would take a trade-partner that is Proactive and Aggressive ... LIKE the Rams.

I also often wrote that while all the above was Unlikely, it was Possible ... IN 2027.
You're basically saying it's Not Possible. That's where we disagree. OK ...
Maybe one of us will remember this exchange in 16 months ... Genuinely hope we are both still around.
Especially Me!!!

So what would the "Proactive and Aggressive ... LIKE the Rams" have to give up to get Burrows?

Serious question

No idea ... too early to make even an educated guess.

Even to throw-out draft choice speculation would be a waste of time.
For example, three 1st rounders sounds better than two 1st rounders but depending upon where those picks are in Round One could change that. A top-5 is probably more valuable than two late round #1s.

Not that I want to continue this discussion in the transaction thread but something to add to this. If you trade Burrow after the season that is a $56.25 million dead cap hit. One thing nobody is adding into that is those 2 diva WR's they just gave a shit ton of money to. You trade their QB they're going to likewise ask for a trade most likely. Now you're adding another nearly $72 million to that dead cap hit. So moving Joe is going to get your other 2 stars on offense to want similar treatment so now you have cheap ass Brown with a dead cap hit approaching $130 million and the estimated total salary cap next year is around $236 million. I'm sure they would love to field a 53 man roster only using $100 million of cap space.

Education Smeducation:.... Lets just play pretendzees.

I'll run with your example:

I like the sound of only giving up draft picks for Burrows.... But only when Stafford sounds off he's done or physically cant do it.

That would get the Mac Jones haters off my back

Trading Joe Burrow after the season incurs a dead cap hit.
I asked you what year you are talking about.

2026 or 2027. It's a relevant question.

As I read the cap sites, the $56M in Dead-$ is a 2026 number.
I have posted MANY times ... several times today, and dozens of times in the past ... NOT IN 2026.

I have consistently suggested a Burrow trade scenario could play-out AFTER the 2026 season ... Not Before
... IN THE 2027 OFF-SEASON
... when the cap implications are far less onerous ... provided the Bengals have another disappointing non-playoff season, making it four consecutive years (2023-2026).

I said trading him after the season so 2026. The year is irrelevant IMO. My point was Burrow demanding a trade will have the same affect on Chase and Higgins. You're asking the Bengals to lose their top 3 offensive players all in one year. It will happen that way in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the WR's hear rumors and they ask for a trade before Joe.

You were responding to my post which was ALL ABOUT 2027. Timing and Year are ABSOLUTELY RELEVANT.

That's It!!!

You can have @dieterbrock. I don't want custody. I'm not even sure he is mine.

LOL

No what's relevant is anybody saying it would be easy for the Bengals to trade Burrow. You're not just trading him you're trading his two WR's too and that has to be accounted for.

Posted on this topic dozens of times, and have NEVER COME CLOSE to suggesting 'it would be easy'.

This is an example of why we could not make things work ...
