Bagent got a ton of attention last Summer on Hard Knocks. It was clear the Organization really liked him; and, it would seem, new Head Coach Ben Johnson has been impressed.
Yeah. I watched last summer. Bagent had a very nice preseason if I recall. Did well!

What matters to Jerruh is Schotty will toss his ancient salad in his overpriced tour bus post-game.

Yes and the player's association is guilty of allowing this to occur and not doing shit to change it. They should get with the owners and agree on a limit of percentage of the cap that can be spent on QBs. There has to be a range where these guys get good pay when they produce while also allowing some of that cap to go to their teammates.

Yeah I keep seeing these media takes on this and it amazes me that so many of them seem to think the team should bet on a QB who took himself out of a game because he was fucking tired. Blows my mind. McVay would axe that motherfucker post-game. He'd be off the team. Unbelievable.

Jones is shitty but he probably got the gig due to basic professionalism and studying the scheme. This is what QB hell looks like.
100% Robinson implied on pod that the whole league was out on the guy after he pulled himself out of the game. Maybe some team picks him up for a exchange of 6th round picks but he has to sit as your 3rd QB ala Trey Lance and then just see what happens.

Going to get interesting there. Coaches say he is smart as a whip.
Caleb is anything but that. Dude has never impressed me.
I would say don't mistake a smart move for depth and value for an indication something is wrong with another player.

Also.. Caleb is anything but? You probably haven't followed him very closely. Kid's smart, humble and hard working. He's also turning the corner in camp and preseason with a new offense.. with a real coach.

Are you a USC fan BTW ?
When I see Caleb going to his 3-4th reads maybe he has turned the corner.
The way I see it, Bears coach says new new kid is so freaking smart, and they pay the man just might mean the coaches don't think their starter is whip smart.

Yeah, his situation is exactly like Jimmy's here in LA.

I'm with you. I honestly don't get the hate for the guy. I get he's kind of quirky and weird but he definitely has the tools to succeed. If he somehow puts it together upstairs, he'll be pretty dangerous. Keyword if

Um.. it's a new offense and he's a second year QB. They're ramping it up.

Again.. have you followed him closely? Because, again.. the intelligence has never been a question. Football IQ or otherwise.

Yes, btw.. I'm a Trojan, so I watched him closely.

Also.. 2 years and $10 million is average to below average for a backup.

"If" is absolutely the key word.

He looks like he's starting to get it.. but, I think we'll need to wait until about mid-season to really know if he's getting it.

I would have taken that deal. Cowboys with Brian Schottenheimer as their Head Coach are going nowhere.

How do you not take that deal and run? Parsons doesn't want to re-sign. That's as good as you're going to get.

I'd never wish death on anyb......just kidding I hope their yacht explodes next time the entire family is on it.

Might be some Saints Row 2 shit where the yacht explodes and the player character wakes up after two years in a coma to find out that they've lost everything. Maybe that happens to the Jones family?

Easy way to get around that pesky "wishing death on someone" karmic rule. ;)

I love people shitting on Caleb after one year in a horrible offensive system with a bad oline.

I'm not saying he'll be great and I'll laugh pretty hard if Chicago has to be in the woods for another 10 years at QB but I don't see where the he's not smart thing is coming from and we definitely need to see where things go in the next 2 years with him.

Interestingly, it did NOT look good in camp initially with him but from what I understand BJ threw everything at him right away and then began pairing things down to what he could do well which speaks to what we saw the last preseason game. Dude was getting things out on time and that offense looked EFFICIENT.

My bet is he's going to be closer to the USC Caleb than the Bears of a year ago Caleb......with a new OC....who actually understands offense.
The one thing I had against Caleb at USC is that it took him forever to read the defense and find an open guy.

Same problem he had in the pros.

But his HC now understands QBs and may get a lot out of him this year. Caleb definitely has the athletic ability. He just needs to read defenses more quickly.

Most of his critics rarely watch him they just see some little clip and it's confirmation bias. I have a few friends that are Bears fans with family in Chicago and all I hear is he's doing good. But there will be clips and people posting stuff trying to get clicks so a lot of his detractors won't ever change their opinion.
