Only way we're a legit contender next year is if Stafford is our QB. I say that because...

1. Moving on from him and going to get another vet QB would mean the rest of the roster isn't good enough. We paid his ass. That means he is the bridge QB to whoever is next in a year or two.

2. If we start a rook QB we're gonna lose too many to be a contender as he learns on the job.

Rams aren't stupid. They have their issues of course but they are smarter than most other orgs. But they have painted themselves into a corner with Stafford so the solution is clear and rather simple: fix the OL and draft QBs while Stafford wins us games and hopefully regains his previous form.

That’s not always the case. You build a strong enough team and a rookie just needs to manage. Just look at Brock Purdy. He’s not that great, but his team is. You build a team like that, you can win with anyone

How many teams have won it all with a rook QB. I can recall Marino losing the SB his rookie season but few others have ever gotten close.

This organization isn't planning on getting to the playoffs as a destination. It's about contending, i.e. having a real shot to win it all. Fix the OL and we have that with Stafford at QB. Put a rook behind Center and we don't.
 
We need a QB who can stay in the lineup. Doesn't have to be a rook, but it's not Stafford anymore.

We’re not getting to the Super Bowl with this version of Stafford. Might as well get a rookie some experience for a Super Bowl push in 25

I don't think we can say that. He's got his issues but when he's locked in mentally with solid protections he is something special. Key is getting him back to that point or at the very least getting the most from our investment in him. And meanwhile hedge our bets by drafting QBs.
