Simms Walking A Thin Line.

I'm disgusted with Simms. He's slow, commits way too many penalties and has a fucked up attitude. He got tossed out of the Buc's game in the 2nd qtr, and after Hayes got hurt Hayes had to come back in because they were short handed. Now it looks like Simms is in the doghouse with Fisher. Rams just added a DE to the PS. Not sure when Longacre can come back, I think after game 6,, Simms play is weakest link on Rams DL.

Am I out of line or has anyone else not cared for Simms play so far?

Sims looks like a good clubhouse guy...but his play was slipping last year...it's probably easy to play besides Donald, Quinn, and the rest...but when we need you to step up...Where's he at???

I'll never say a bad thing about Eugene Sims. During the Seattle game last year - the one in honor of Thordaddy - he came up to me and my family after we left the field, shook our hands, and chatted about the game for a few minutes.

I'm unaware of a Longacre injury.

I even looked it up and couldn't find anything.

FWIW, I favor activating Longacre over Sims. Longacre is in our future plans. Sims, not so much.

This feels like conjecture influenced by personal opinion. I don't see how signing a guy to the practice squad equates to "the dog house". If Simms is benched or inactive against AZ, sure. Longacre is available, just can't make it into rotation, for one reason or another; maybe the coaching staff feels that Simms is better. No one seemed as pissed when Donald got ejected. I think that it's way to early in the season to start calling for player's heads.

I think he is a fine back up. Not everyone we have on the D Line can be a starter on another treM in the league. He's good as a rotational guy... Nothing more.

Wouldn't surprise me if Longacre was dinged up. Fish is a ninja with his injury reports, rarely lets anything out that he doesn't need to. And Longacre is every bit as good as Simms to my eye, so Fish trying to rest him up would explain things for me.

That said I don't hate Simms. He definitely belongs in this league on the depth chart. Just not sure how pi$$ed Fish is about that incident, no way to know since he rarely gives the media anything solid.

I don't think Longacre is hurt he has just been inactive because he is the 5th end.

The signing of Trail has more to do with the the Hayes injury. With Hayes hurt Westbrooks probably starts and Longacre spells him. Trail gives us some insurance in case catastrophe hits and we loose another DE.

Rams will have to deal with several Unhealthy DL'ers currently (Easley, Brockers, Hayes). With our 5th DL & main reserve Eugene Sims 3 game performance is not positive. Can not spin it any other way Sims acclaims are in the rear view mirror..... Ethan Westbrooks is a much cheaper & better overall DL'er @ 3 DL post than Eugene Sims. Dominque Easley also has outplayed Sims too. Looks to me that new addition DE Lynden Trail might be here with the thoughts @ looking at him to push Sims back up RDE behind Quinn.

Simms seems like a non factor in recent history. I was actually more curious as to what happened to Easley? He had one tackle, but otherwise I didn't see him all game. Also, anyone know how many snaps Donald lined up in the DE position against the Bucs?

Simms was ejected for spitting in a Buc player's face. Does anyone think he didn't know if an official saw him do that he wouldn't get ejected? Hayes was already out due to injury, Simms knew that, yet Simms still spit in a players face knowing full well that if an official caught him he would be ejected. He still did it, and made the Rams DL thin, out 2 players. Hayes ended up coming back into the game when he shouldn't have. Fisher commented on it. How when Simms showed up in the locker room after getting thrown out of the game, Hayes knew they were short handed and went back out and played hurt.

Anyone get where my dislike for Simms is coming from?
