So with the exception of Stanton's skewed numbers(in relief of Palmer) the Rams haven't allowed a QB rating over 100 since the Seattle game(which we won anyway).

In the last six games....
-The Rams D has allowed only 4 TD passes.
-Rams have 7 INT's.
-Average QB rating last six games: 84.5
-Rams have 24 sacks(4/gm avg)

100 is kind of a low bar isn't it? Under 80 and I'd be impressed. Unless you're playing one of the great QBs then under 100 would OK. For me I mean.

I agree, but that 84.5 rating during the last six games includes Drew Stanton's ridiculous 143.8 average(to be fair since i also included Matt Shaub's equally ridiculous 35.2 rating in relief of Carr).

We could throw them both out.

Happy now? :)

Now that's LOL hilarious. Btw are you still collecting gifs for your site?
I was making a lot of them, but haven't done it in a while. I'll get back to it soon though.

Thanks for gathering @Mojo Ram

While the overall season average is not terrible, the more interesting part is the trend which is what your stats bear out. Last 5 games the D has really been lights out, which is in stark contrast to the start of the year when the Rams pass D was meh at best. So while the two half-seasons work out to average, the awesome part is that they are playing great now.

I can't help but overlay this with some combination of Tru Jo's return, moving Gaines to the slot, Joyner's injury (which means more time for Tru Jo and Gaines), LESS blitzing (that's just an impression), but nevertheless an emergence of TJ McD, Ogletree, and the revitalization of the Rams pass rush. Too many variables to juggle, but the Rams D just seems more purposeful now (with the exception of when they run those Ranger schemes, DEs rushing from a standing position behind the DTs, that just hasn't clicked yet).

Yeah that's the one that sticks for me too. Division leader, their house, we knock their QB from the game, 14-10 lead in the 4th qtr....oh and i'm surrounded by Cardinals fans in everyday life here.

I agree that there are a few factors involved. The scheme finally getting through to the players, the secondary getting healthy, the Gaines pick, and GW allowing our nasty front four to do what they do best without trying to throw six, seven and eight man blitzes at the QB so often.

I'll be very happy to see all this carry over into 2015. This type of defense is good enough to win a SB if the offense gets some consistency at QB.

Is this what we should expect to see going forward now that the D has gotten used to GW's system? I certainly hope so.

We will see if Stanton can maintain that QBR in our next matchup
