1. Hip drop tackles - Tackler anchors his hips into the ground and will often twist the runner’s body at unnatural angles. I agree with this one, so does Sammy.

2. Kickoffs - The League is looking to make changes to add excitement. To encourage more returns the NFL could tape respot the ball at the 20 to encourage more returns. Since many blocks have been made illegal, player safety has been increased.

3. Touchbacks on fumbles - I don’t think there is anything wrong with awarding the defending team a touchback for fumbles that occur in their end zone or beyond. However, the NFL may wish to increase scoring. Stay tuned.

4. Tush Push - As a Rams fan I hate this play as it is difficult to spot, there is a huge advantage for the offense, and some player safety is involved. In the high school ranks, it is illegal for players to assist a runner. I wish the NFL would get revert back to the HS rules.

It is so difficult for tacklers, who only have a split-second to decide, if they are tackling the "wrong way", and I'm not sure you can coach that out of players. Take the "spearing" or head-first tackle... how come offensive players can do it and defensive players can't? They are putting too much subjectivity in the referees calls, IMO, and is very inconsistent. Take the horse-collar tackle for example... the other day I saw a tackle where the defender grabbed the side of the players shoulder pads and got called for a penalty... that is not a horse collar tackle IMO. Another example is the "defenseless player" penalty. Sometimes it gets called and sometimes it doesn't.

Kickoffs are very dangerous. I do not like to see 250 pound guys running full speed into other guys. I really don't want to see kickoffs taken out of the game but I think they are fairly dangerous to the players.

The tush-push is bullshit. Assisting the ball carrier was never allowed in the NFL and somehow it made it's way back. It is dangerous and needs to be abolished IMO. That is not football... that is rugby.

Love that idea. Why not get your strongest defenders to plug the gaps behind the line as well? Heck, call them eligible receivers and we could even get ADPOY his first TD.

It isn't about changing rules except in the case of safety, it is about play by play, game by game, team by team , player by player consistency that needs to happen

I don't know about the hip drop thing. You have a big tight end or running back that doesn't go down easily you're trying any way you can to bring him down. Especially if they outweigh you by 60 pounds.

3. Touchbacks on fumbles through the end-zone

Fumble in front of pylon out of bounds, offense keeps ball. Touch pylon or behind it out of bounds equals touchback to the defense? This has always been the fucking rule I've hated the most in football. IT's just far too severe a penalty on the offense, and makes zero sense.

Plus, first Rams game I ever saw live, this stupid fucking rule contributed to 9ers beating us. A touchdown here would have put the game out of reach.
And instead of getting to celebrate on Broadway Street Downtown St. Louis, I'm getting drunk and fighting 9er douches in the street after the game. Fuck this stupid rule.

And that’s the whole point.

Make the application of the rules more subjective and they can then be applied to achieve the league’s desired outcome.

I think at one time... it was illegal to push the runner to advance the ball...

Rugby is the worst sport in the world. Predominantly for rucking plays like that. And other yawn inducing play. Fucking hate everything about that shit sport.

Rugby League though, what a Sport. Best in the world. They took all the shit out of rugby and created a free flowing, running sport with brutal tackling.

The NRL is actually starting their season in Las Vegas next year in March. Two games at the Raiders stadium. Should be good if anyone lives there.

Edit - Another reason I hate that shit sport is how they took ownership of the term rugby. It's rugby union, not rugby.

Now when people around the world hear the term rugby league they think of that other shit sport. They're worlds apart. One is interesting and the other cures insomnia, where you can take 5 minutes watching them try to get a scrum in perfect order.

I don’t see how they allow players to be assisted on every other play but make it a penalty on a QB sneak. In fact a lot of them lately I don’t see anyone pushing Hurts from behind, they don’t need to.

Kick offs are never going to be worth a damn, they’re already over regulated.

Hip drop, leading with the crown, hitting guys in the knees, crack back blocks, just put dresses on them and play two hand touch. Too many players making career decisions because they get paid ridiculous amounts to play a game.

Make all plays reviewable from a booth official, get ALL the fucking calls right. Expand the roster numbers and salary cap to allow for all the “injuries”.

With gambling involved they’ll never quit fucking up the game, it’s almost a lost cause.

Taking away the dumb Tush Push would simply revert the rule to back in the day. I'm definitely for that one. The kickoff in it's entirety needs to also go back to previous since there is currently less excitement. The hip drop I'm on the fence with because there are too many damn tackling rules that there won't be any tackling left. Don't want the NFL to sink to shitty Pro Bowl level.

The Eagles have an All Pro center and both their guards are former centers as well. I'd say that's a good reason why and you put a QB who can run behind that there is a damned good chance you'll convert it.
