I have loved the things I've seen form McVay. Brilliant game planning, looks like he is still learning, steps up and take responsibility, gives credit to the other teams, respects the game. All GREAT leadership qualities.

But the TO he called after the scuffle involving Donald and Quinn was nothing short of brilliant.

Giving the team a chance to collect themselves and sending the message that it was not acceptable for them to lose composure, was the best coaching move I've seen in quite a while. I wish I could have heard what he said.

The win was great, loved pounding the hags into submission, our coach ROCKS!!!

GO RAMS!

I hope he gets a call from dipshit Goodell to personally thank him for keeping that game under control because you know sure as shit Pete Carroll didn't care.

Nice post @blackbart and agreed. McVay has not only done a great job this year, but yes he's also getting better as a coach and game manager.

First matchup between him and Pete Carroll the dude got taken to school a bit. But boy did he rebound in this one. Dude is a quick study.

mentioned the same thing in the GDT

No sense risking an ejection or suspension in a blow out win

Loved it too, shows some real leadership and understanding what's going on in gametime. It's little things like that that wins over players.

I noticed later in the game they had at least one coach or state coming over to schoo the players away from she-hags when the plays ended near the sideline.

So different from the old regime that didn't mind fighting. McVay on the other hand doesn't stand for shooting yourself in the foot and made sure the defense kept their composure.

As long as he wasn't blaming them. It wasn't their fault, a Seattle player started it.

Actually, that's not true. Carroll also talked to his guys...went onto the field...and you could lip read a few words where he was making it clear that it wasn't gonna be okay.

I think Carroll was worried the NFL would definitely suspend players if they engaged in this behavior two weeks in a row and with Seattle not technically out of the playoffs, he didn't want to lose players.

I don't think it was the principled stand that McVay took, but he did make it nonetheless.

What? Pete's cheerleading on the sideline wasn't going to stop his dirty team from trying to start fights? This is shocking. ;)

The man is 31...thirty one!...just listen to him during his press conferences...if you can’t get excited then you don’t have a pulse. He’s just getting started...I can’t imagine him not being seen as one of if not the best in the business before his 35th birthday. Man, the RAMS made the right decision on head coach that’s for sure. I will be shocked if he doesn’t hoist a Lombardi or two before he’s through,

I remember there was a story that the Rams almost hired Bill Walsh back in 78' or 79', I think it was the year they re-hired George Allen, who was fired then in preseason.

A year later or maybe even that year, Walsh was hired by the Niners. I often thought what could have been. In fact, I remember Haden mentioning this in an interview in regards to what Walsh could have done with his career in the West Coast Offense, where a strong arm was not a requirement.

Well, this time looks like we got the guru and did not allow the Niners to scoop him up. What a feeling knowing that you have a great young coach, a very good young QB and some confidence in this organization for the 1st time in a long time.

Yeah, what came to mind for me is I could see player's getting ejected or at the very least more fighting had this still been a Fisher led team!
McVay has sealed his stamp on this team! Remnants of Fisher are less and less!
