Meh, I've lost a lot of desire for baseball with the players and owners bickering and shitting on the fans. I'll stream some stuff or watch when I see it on tv but I cancelled my mlb.tv subscription.

What do you mean? If you don't like paying $20 for parking, $50 a game, paying $15 a beer, and all for a sport with 81 home games with 16 players doing nothing for the majority of a play, GTFO!

Well I guess it was a foul tip dropped by the catcher on my 3rd strike and you are out

I said at the beginning of the strike that if they missed any regular season games that I was done.

I guess I will still pay attention since they are still playing a full season.

Baseball lost me some years back when I bought the subscription while in San Diego and they blacked out the home (LA area) games because I was "close enough to attend." Then the refund was stupidly difficult to get done. After all that I was done. The greed of it just made me sick tbh.

Irony is now I can stream whatever I want with the sites that are up all over. But I no longer give a shit. Wondering if this is gonna happen to me with the NFL and NHL as well, as I have lost all interest in 2 leagues in the past twenty years. I'll probably be watching the world bowling tour by the time I punch out of this mortal coil. :laugh4:

I'm kinda on the fence with baseball now. I definitely won't be paying for any MLB streaming packages anymore. I might stream free games if I feel like I'm in the mood. Or if its broadcast on my local stations. If they dragged this on a couple months longer they mighta lost me for the season or longer. When my cost of living increases can't keep up with inflation, gas prices and housing its getting harder to root for millionaires who make money for billionaires.

Man, I think back to 15 years ago, and my roommates and I scraped our money together to buy the MLB package for $120. We watched so many games, not just our Dodgers games, but other teams and matchups as well. Now, I can barely make time to catch my own team, let alone whatever matchup is on Fox or ESPN. Forget about paying a bunch of money for all the games, my kid needs shoes, and I've got to fill my tank up with $7 gas...

I have signed up for the MLB streaming package deal on July 4th a couple times. Online only, but it was like $14, so I could kind of justify it, even if I only watched a few games.

Good for her, and good for the sport. (Also, when the fucking hell is Becky Hammon going to get a job? She's proven that she's more competent than half of the coaches in the NBA, and she's Popovich's right hand woman.)

Also, Pujols hit #680! Only twenty more to go in a Cardinals uniform, and he'll have 700!

It's been an enjoyable month of May too.

Damn, did Judge make a great decision? Leads MLB in homers, 2nd in runs, 5th in Rbi, 13th in hits. And who doesn't love watching Nasty Nestor?

The Mets with Buck Showalter? Dodgers, Astros and Yankees staffs all sub 3.00.

Man, the Yankees are hot. Particularly their starting pitching.

Cole 5-1, 2.78......last 2 starts; 13 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 19 K, 0.69 Era, 0.54 Whip
Seveino, 5-1, 2.95.....last 4 starts; 26 IP, 12 H, 5 R, 5 BB, 30 K, 1.73 Era, 0.65 Whip
Cortez, 5-1, 1.50.......last 5 starts; 35.1 IP, 19 H, 5 R, 7 BB, 37 K, 1.27 Era, 0.74 Whip
Montgomery, 1-1 3.04.....last 2 starts, 13 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 1 BB, 9 K, 2.08 Era, 0.69 Whip

Yankee starters the last 10 games:

69.3 IP, 27 H, 8 R, 12 BB, 68 K, 1.12 Era, 0.53 Whip

And their bullpen ain't bad either.

Hitting?

How in the hell did the Yankees get Matt Carpenter? Every team had the chance to sign him. In 10 games with NY, he has 5 homers, 10 Rbi and is hitting .275.

It's because he was lazy as a Cardinal. He never tried to improve himself with us when he got his big contract; it's probably because he was on his last legs that he did with the Yankees. Right field being a bandbox didn't hurt either.

The honor of putting on the pinstripes help some elevate their game but many also crumble from the pressure

Except his home runs at Yankee Stadium (with the exception of 1) would have been home runs in over 20 MLB parks, including St. Louis. I believe he's also hit a couple on the road. So there's that.

Yeah there is an aura and mystique about being a Yankee. Some embrace it and some flinch from it. Apparently Carpenter is the former. He even made a diving stop at third base with a strong throw to Rizzo for the out.
