I keep seeing the Raiders being attached to Penix.
They still have a 17 mill dead cap hit coming for JG (Post June 1. Approx 5 mill in '24, 12 mill in '25)
Minshew signed for 2 years 25 mill
O'Connell for 1 mill
And then pay Penix?
I know its the Raiders but still

Penix will be on a rookie contract. His first year can't be more than 7-10 million right?

O'Connell isn't the answer and Minshew is a cheap vet. I get it if you think Penix can be the guy. Next offseason you look at moving him, guaranteed money could affect that but not looking at spotrac ATM.

Allbright mentioned that they've been telling everyone they like him... like almost too much.

Interesting that Snead and McVay were talking about a reddit guy talking them taking oline in top 10... why talk about it? Why even was it on their radar... hmm...

Makes me wonder if it’s a ruse to start an early run on OL so more DL drop…

Damn! You and this Allbright guy need to get a room.
Hahaha. I think if you want to know what's going on you listen to him and Charles Robinson. The rest is noise.

(though Robinson tends to get more info during season than draft stuff, still, read his recent column on draft!)

Interesting. Hard to believe the Raiders would "outsmart" anyone, but if this turned out to be a smokescreen it would be wild

Just my feelings but look at the original sources for most if not all these rumors. The are at the least friendly if not friends with those sources with relationships and connections in the past. Why wouldn't you do something by spreading disinformation for your friend that has helped you in your career?

Imagine being in either one of their shoes and what you would do?

I feel our target truly is Latu, Turner or Verse and we are drumming up what we can to have one of them fall to us. or fall enough for a trade up with a partner a relationship has already been soft established.

Yeah, I get having favorites based on prior experiences. However, I don't agree with putting tremendous faith and trust in just one or two sources, the way you seem to with Allbright.

If Benjamin Allbright was as clued-in as you seem to think, I wouldn't have needed to research his first name when you referenced 'Allbright' the other day. It's all good.

Gotta say, I just don't see this issue of guys falling being a thing. Turner to ATL is strong. (there's a chance they go Murphy). But if they go Turner, I see where Murphy, Arnold, and Mitchell go off the board but having really hard time seeing where Latu or Verse go before us.

Where are these guys getting picked exactly and by whom before us??

BTW, I could see us trying to leapfrog Cinn for Murphy. Think he's a great fit for them.

I mean, it's a point. Being clued in and having notoriety are two different things though.

I'd rather talk to Charlie Munger all day than Bill Ackman...

You're right though, best to just judge peeps on priors.

These guys don't think of "us" one iota.
When I say us, I mean anyone not inside of the Rams building. Also you're wrong there, they are thinking about us if they are referencing Reddit. That's any awful area to mention. Next we'll here that the Booty and Boobies section of this forum will possibly influence the pick hahaha

WoW! Only O.L has a 50% or above chance to sign a second contract. Interesting
That’s a second contract with the same team who drafted them.
This is why I no longer look at prospects as a guy who “could start the next 10 years.” I just look at the rookie contract and know it’s rare to be re-signed to a second contract.

The reality is rosters are now built by offsetting huge contracts with a bunch of lesser rookie deals. The team simply won’t have the $$ to re-sign all of those players when they, for example, have a Stafford, Kupp, and a Donald on the payroll.

I think I read the broncos currently have over $61mil tied up in QBs right now—and they haven’t even drafted their “franchise” guy yet.
