I for one, loved it. Took me back circa 2002/2003 when I was getting into rap music.

50 Cent In Da Club was one of my first American songs I listened to. And Snoop, Eminem, Dr. Dre? C'mon now that was the most LA show ever.

It wasn't super theatrical like Katy Perry and JLo's ass wasn't vibing all over, but I really dug the simplicity of this show. It was really good.

I enjoyed it. Definitely aimed at folks in my age demographic (50+). Would have liked to have heard Gin & Juice, but I understand that they weren't able to pull from their full libraries ... because of tv.

Yeah I thought it was great. I listed to 2001 (the album) almost nonstop as a kid. Eminem was introduced on that one. Got into 50, and had G-Unit shirts in middle school. Great performances.

Was the low volume due to Sofi’s sound system? The half time show‘s volume seemed low, even the national anthem was low.

I enjoyed it a lot... top 4 or 5 of the last 20 years imo.

As a lighting designer, it was flawless considering the natural light and ambient glow affecting everything... that's a challenge.
Set design was great too.
Simple but simple is good.
The artists weren't lip syncing. If there was ever a stage of performers the NFL should be nervous about live mics....

Overall I appreciated the simple but well executed spectacle pulled off in such a short window. People have no idea how hard those techs work on this.

Everyone in my house agreed it was one of the better ones in recent memory. The only complaint is it didnt go out with a bang. Sort of anti climactic. We were hoping the cars would start bouncing at the end and stuff.

Also, I think when you have that many performers it takes a little away because so many good songs from your favorite artist are skipped. We got like half a song from all of them.

There were some funny facebook posts about 50 cent hanging upside down. Ill have to track them down.

Duuuude!!! I was surprised the lowriders never started bouncin.. I don't know if they had it and scratched it at the last minute due to technical issues (seems extremely easy to execute though) or if the minds behind it just failed to use it... but they definitely should have...

I liked it a lot, though I'll admit I WAS the target audience. 90's and early 2000's rap music was my favorite music throughout middle school, high school, and early adulthood. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of live rap music because it usually sucks. I have to give the old folks credit though, and Kendrick Lamar is the real fucking deal. I'll give the show a B+. 50 cent is overweight. Mary J Blige should have sang "Real Love."

One more thing, I wish they would have had Eminem rap this instead of "Lose Yourself". I get that was a huge song, but dude, this song was waaayyy better in my opinion. They should have let that LA crowd listen to Nate Dogg and Eminem remind them where they stood at halftime.

Lot of the songs they played reminded me of overseas liberty stops back in the day. I was drippin. Ok maybe not but it was a pretty good show.

For me the main problem with the halftime show was the realization that we had another nailbiting finish ahead of us. :laugh4:

The cars were on that "mat" or whatever it was that looked like the city of LA.. looks like it had lights under it and other stuff. Plus, I'm sure they didn't want to take ANY chances of damaging the field.

Those tires on the lowriders coming down from a few feet could seriously impact the field.

So, that was probably it... but yeah, watching them bounce, esp if they'd gotten the beat right woulda been even more epic.

I agree, but no reason for those cars to weigh more than the frame and hydraulics... Showbiz magic baby. We solve that kind of problem all the time. But you're right, there are limitations for a halftime show.

I notice that on turf fields, they go easier on the field with respect to halftime stuff than grass fields because damage to the playing surface isn't something that can be fixed right away with turf.

I remember when one of those flame shooters that players run past set the turf on fire in St Louis, I think and it took a bit to repair it and definitely couldn't be repaired during the game.

Yeah, I hadn't considered the artificial turf factor. Good points.

My God those days of rug carpet on concrete that couldn't cover the floor, guys getting hurt because of it... dark times in Saint Louie... seems like a lifetime ago. What a weird, strange trip it's been..

Not really my kind of music but it was ok especially Snoop in Rams colours.
