Does anybody else yearn for having somebody like Ron Brown or Tony Horne fielding kick offs?

I still remember Brown returning those kickoffs for touchdowns against Green Bay in the late 80s.

And that Tony Horne's return to start the second half against the Vikings in the playoff in the '99 season had me going mental in the ESPN Zone in New York City.

With the new rules, would players like that flourish as much in today's game, or would they be more likely to be nullified?

Tony Horne would be huge...I think you'll see a reprioritization of good KR guys now....just the threat alone will get you the ball at the 35 every trip which is a pretty big advantage

Not a huge fan of him but don't dislike him as a WR but KC Concepcion is one hell of a punt returner and might be around for our 2nd pcik in the 1st

I really thought Whittington had potential as a kick returner when he first started but it’s just never really clicked.

Rivers, forget about it. If he catches it, we are starting at the 23.

I'd kill for another Steddy, period. I think he would've dominated in McVay's system (same with S-Jax; I think he'd be a no-doubt HOFer in McVay's system.). So unfortunate what happened to him, and he was one of my favorite offensive players on those Fisher teams.

Had this very thought early in the season. Stedman would have been a household name in this system.

He has no wiggle. While you don't want a guy who dances, you need to make some cuts and quick moves. He is just a straight line runner it seems. Maybe next year they will trust Hunter back there or get a guy that has a real burst.

It’s sad but I’m just looking for a fair catch on punt returns, touchbacks on kick returns, giving up <25 yard on punt returns and <35 yard on kick returns. In other words - no dramatic failures.

With the new KO rules it seems having a RB return kicks is better than a WR. The RB can pick holes better, as he is used to running behind blockers as opposed to a WR. I was surprised they never tried using Jarquez Hunter back there.

The D will have to step up on Sunday, as the Rams will probably have to kick out of the end zone on all KO's and OOB on all punts. These are yards that will be essentially given to Seattle. But better that than a long return.
 
Need wiggle, suddenness and speed all over the roster.

But for now…we’ll plod and ankle tackle our way into another championship.
