When they pick Atwell over Humphrey, then questioning their neglect of the offensive line is a very fair question.

Plus they wasted a 4th on a very longshot in Harris in the same draft. This happens a year before they knew Corbett was a free agent along with Allen and Noteboom. Instead they waste money signing two of them one well below average OLT and an average oft injured Center.

If myself and a few others could see this coming, then why can’t NFL coaches?

And what this also points out is when there is an obvious problem McSnead takes care of it. Injuries makes it impossible to know what this year would have looked like but there is still a lot of football left and I can guarantee that if we end the season like we began the o-line will be addressed one way or another in the offseason.

The projected O-Line at the start of Camp was Noteboom (LT), Edwards (LG), Allen (C), Havenstein (RT) and a RG competition of Shelton, Bruss and Anchrum, with Jackson as the #3 OT. Shelton was also the back-up Center.

That was the projected top-eight, All but Havenstein and Jackson have been injured for multiple games.

Evans was the 9th OL on the roster. Kolone and Brewer were on the Practice Squad. Aboushi, Skura and Nsekhe were street free agents at the start of the Regular Season. None were in any team's 2022 training camp.

I agree, but would add that Allen and Noteboom getting injured arguably should have been anticipated and planned for. It was very foreseeable. One is made of glass, always getting injured even when playing part-time as a backup. The other has a knee that has been a chronic issue. Remove those two names from the group and it looks far less adequate. If the plan was to rely on Noteboom and Allen being fixtures post-Whitworth and Corbett, I would argue that the cupboard behind them needed to be better stocked. And the Rams knew Bruss would be out for the season before it began (although at that point, decent offensive linemen are not exactly growing on trees). But I agree on the whole. The cluster injuries have been insane. No team can ever really prepare for that...

I was very concerned with going into the season with Allen and Noteboom and right before the season started I told a person at work if we lose 2 OL or more - we are completely screwed. And those two are injury prone. Our back-ups are either very inexperienced or plainly suck (Evans).

Evans should not even be close to being anywhere on the team.

I was hoping that we could get a full season or a majority of the season out of our starting OL but my hopes were quashed after the third game when we had to go with Evans as our guard and Kolone as our center.

Well none of those back-ups have played a full season so is it wise to go into a season with injury prone starters and back-ups with zero experience
