Taken violently today at the age of 31, Charlie started Turning Point USA and has offered hope and optimism to young people, as he challenged media narratives and encouraged honest and robust debate.

His legacy will ripple throughout this nation and will never die. Charlies' faith and his humor impacted millions. The movement for freedom will always be thankful for the impact of Charlie Kirk, who's short life will have a long-lasting impact. Evil may take his earthly body, but love will prevail.

Go with God, young man.

Everyone can and should condemn this violence.

Praising his legacy? Condemning his legacy? Doesn't seem like ROD is an appropriate place for either, in my opinion.

Here's hoping this thread is closed sooner rather than later.

Didn't take long for someone to clutch their pearls. There are all kinds of RIP threads on ROD.

So we can have 12 pages of fawning over guys that worship Satan, but we have to "Close the thread" for someone who is an avowed Christian, and lifted up young people and gave them hope?

Not sure why, just like I did with the fawning over Ozzy Osborne, you can't just ignore it, if it is not in your interest.

Ironic, one part of Charlies legacy is that he abhorred the silencing of free speech.

I get that this is a private Site, and I respect the Board rules, but there was nothing controversial, or political about my praising of his life. (And I don't encourage anyone going political)

Just thought it should be noted.

I don’t like the direction this country is going in where we have no civility anymore. It seems when we disagree with an ideology, we take to violence. This is not representative of the vision of America.

FYI, Ozzy never worshipped the devil and was a Christian. Image was for theatrical and sales purposes.

Fair enough. I shouldn't have used him as an example. My apology. I listened to a little Ozzy in my day. My point was more we should be able to acknowledge impactful people when they pass away. Cheers.

Nah I get it, if people are fans and they impacted your life positively, why not post a RIP

Sad day for sure. People need to wake up in this country or its gonna be a slow hard fall to the bottom.

Why would they close this thread btw? This is an open discussion forum where almost anything goes

Having read a lot of history, I can assure you it won’t be slow. Hard? Yes. Very.

Getting Spain in 1936 vibes today.

Not "pearl clutching", just disagreeing with you. Do I think Kirk "lifted up young people and gave them hope?" No, I don't.

I probably don't agree with your stances on politics. And given your concerns about "Satan worship," I probably don't agree with some of your stances on religion, either. But hey, disagreement is okay, and I sure wish we as a nation could disagree with more civility.

Yeah, free speech in America is great. But I've been on this board long enough to see how supposedly "free speech" conversations tend to usually go.

Cheers, man. I have no problems with you. It’s ok to disagree. I still like you. Free speech needs to be respectful

The restrictions are not evenly applied......but, so it goes I guess.
Either way, its a football board and not anything more in reality.

I’ll watch this thread but let’s make it unnecessary. Be respectful to each other and to the young man whose life was taken.

This was a disgusting act and I think we can all agree on that.

Prayers to his family.

But FFS! This shit has to end. It’s another huge black eye for this country.

do i think charlie kirk lifted them up and gave them hope???

that may have happened on occasion, but that was not what drove him to do what he did...

he was all about the BS that college kids were not being taught what they signed up for, with a heavy dose of indoctrination...

college is supposed to be about getting an education, and getting a leg up towards a career...

in todays world it's all about brainwashing young people into believing that america is bad ... the most racist country in the world...

for those of you that have visited countries like japan, europe and china, you know that we dont come close to being the most racist on the planet...

charlie kirk opened so many eyes to the lie that was the college education, by asking questions about majors that students were studying, and these college educated pupils had no idea what he was asking on the subjects they were involved in... they were being shortchanged without a clue it was happening...

it's why he had to be eliminated....

so sad for the america we now live in...

god bless charlies family...
