He would look good helping AD. He’s got 8 QB pressures for the Panthers. One of which led to a turnover.

He was a relatively cheap signing. It’s too bad the Rams didn’t value him more.
Who would you rather have? Fox or A’shawn Robinson right now? Or maybe Fox and Brockers over Robinson? Fox’s early return for Carolina is looking like a great investment, while the Rams likely 6 th round comp pick for losing him is looking like a bad one.

Salary cap is a thing. Robinson’s not 100% yet and is a three down player.
I love Fox, but the Rams had 11 pressures yesterday. They gotta wrap.

Can’t keep them all. Hoecht and Williams will do similar things.
That’s my point. Ashawn’s contract could offset Fox’s plus more.

As I understood it Ashawn is healthy. He hasn’t been limited at practice since early summer.

Robinson had too much dead $ to cut so don't think that was an option. But I agree losing Fox does hurt our pass rush. If we had anyone across from Floyd that could make a consistent impact we wouldn't notice the Fox loss as much. But since Obo and Lewis are pretty much useless, we've put all our eggs in the Hollins basket this year. Our OLB depth chart is one injury away from catastrophe. We will need Fox's pass rush come playoffs.

Yeah, salary cap forced the Rams to part ways with a LOT of talent on D.

Fox, Brockers, Ebukam, Hill, JJ... that's five starter-level guys right there.

I'm sure Rams are somewhat disappointed with Robinson's production relative to his salary, but ya can't win 'em all....

Considering we effectively have no cap space, we had to make every move we did to get the team we have.

We couldn't dump A'Shawn (and the run d likely takes a hit if we do), he got more than DeSean (IIRC), so you're left with basically choosing between him and JJ vs Floyd. I probably roll with him and JJ myself

I didn’t like the Robinson singing when it was made and he’s don’t little to change that.
Gaines has also seemed to not be as effective so far. Maybe it’s their roles?
Robinson can play for sure and flashed some last year but the guy has to be in shape, motivated and healthy.
Seems like he is checking two of the three boxes his whole career.

Rams are stuck with Robinson for the next two years. I just don't see Robinson as a good fit in the 5 tech or 3 tech post in our 3 DL post front. He just does not have anything in his pass rush backpack. He is a middle clogger nothing else.

Next season when SJ-D moves on due to UFA'cy & lack of $$$ to retain, I can see Robinson moving into SJ-D's position to share with Greg Gaines to NT.

Finding the perfect fit for that 5 tech will come from the youngsters of Bobby Brown/ Jonah Williams/ Mike Hoecht/ Ernest Brown & Marquise Copeland. Rams are in very good shape as far as the future is concerned but this season we will suffer from growing pains of lack of talent of Robinson & the maturing of the trio of youngsters in that 5 tech post.

I'm worried we're gonna feel the loss of Fox and Brockers when it comes to playing the Seahawks and Cards. The DL did not do a very good job of containing Wentz and if they play like that against Wilson it'll be a long day.

Sometimes players do well for other teams. It happens. I wonder how Lions fans feel watching Stafford light it up for the Rams? We let Blythe go and now we're starting Brian Allen. Sometimes that works out too.

Showing some maturity and perspective there.

Why would we miss Brockers? The Colts have a better OL and run game than either of those teams. If we didn't miss Brock this past week, we won't miss him all year.

Personally....way too early to judge. Fox was a great situational player but not a 3 down player as someone mentioned. Robinson has a ton of upside IMO that we will see as the season progresses. It's a marathon guys, not a sprint. The whole defense will take a little time to create its own personality/identity. We will get better and I really don't think we are bad at all. Let's see how we do against the GOAT this week. He's not as mobile as Wentz and the TB running game may not be as good as Indy's. Let's rough him up a bit and see what happens! Can't wait for Sunday.
