Man after years of crying over losses to the vikings and cowgirls (the 70's) then seeing the whiners kick our rears for 17 straight games, I'm hoping we're going to win 7 super bowls under McVay. McVay is young and Kroenke has deep pockets. I hope that we become the next dynasty.

I'm just hoping McVay stays, he might only stay on for four or five more years because of the attractive offers he's receiving to become a broadcaster. I hope the new extension pays him really well and McVay ends up becoming the longest tenured Head Coach in Ram history.

If any owner is able and willing to ‘overpay’ McVay to keep him as HC rather than losing him to the broadcast booth that owner is Stan Kroenke.

That is true, but the question will be, what does McVay want long term? Hopefully, he understands that he's got the perfect fit with an owner like Kroenke plus a GM like Snead, but it will all depend on how McVay views coaching long term. It's a grind, however, IMO, he's a football coach, but that has not stopped others over the years from walking away and McVay is getting ready IMO, to start a family so that will also factor in.

I hear ya, den.

But it might be a mistake to judge McVay by the standards of others, particularly ‘normals’.

I think he’s a freak, a true coaching junkie that just turned 36. I wouldn’t be surprised if he chooses to coach for quite some time because it’s simply in his DNA (almost literally). We’re breaking new ground with this guy.

Then again, I could see him lured by that broadcast gig and even more money. I’d bet that he would be fantastic at that, too. Maybe a 5 year TV ‘break’ and then back to coaching?

Man, the world is McVay’s oyster right now. He’s living the dream.

I would not trade McVay for any coach right now, he is one of the elite coaches in the NFL.
I too worry that he will not stay with the team for much longer. We may only have 1 to 3 more years of McVay so enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Its' nice to see where the Rams are now portrayed as an outstanding organization. That has not always been the case. It all starts with Stan, he has been the catalyst for that change but McVay's arrival is when the worm really turned.

Don't see him like a Belichek who rode it to the end. He is from a younger generation who won't stay in one position too long and will follow the money train. Can't say I blame him.

It's not just the money...If I paid you essentially the same money in a year and you only had to work 10 hours a week, unless you wanted to do more, it's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully we get another ring or two before the inevitable....

Maybe, but that generation is finding out now that moving and relocating for a tad more money is not always worth it. Roots, plus family & friends are sometimes more important then just a bit more from a financial aspect.

I see McVay coaching a few more years.. jumping into announcing for a decade.. then being bored and getting back into coaching when he's still in his 50s.

When he does take an analyst gig it will just serve as a soft reset to let him choose a new situation in his return to coaching. Because he will receive annual offers as an analyst to run teams.

If I am Stan I let him know that when he wants to be a GM he has that job with full control and all my resources. He would never leave due to the money I would throw at him. I'd have him wiping his ass with benjamins.

Kroenke, Demoff, Snead and McVay have transformed this franchise entirely.

Mcvay can do whatever he wants. I'm sure he has a blank check from Kroenke he can cash at any moment.

Having hated the 49'ers since the mid 1960's, I'm pretty sure they became the whiners when Bill Walsh took over the team. He would complain about everything. I specifically remember him whining about never being able to catch Don Shula's win total because Shula got an early start. Shula was hired at the age of 33 by Carol Rosenbloom who owned the Colts at that time.
McVay has a shot, but who knows if he wants to coach that long. He has 62 victories in 5 years (regular and post season) and at that rate would need to coach nearly 30 years to catch Shula's 347 (regular and post season).

I know it’s early in his career but a quick look at McVays winning percentage:

McVay .681
Belicheat. .673
Tomlin. .632
Reid. .625
Asshole Face .624
Harbaugh. .607
Carroll. .588

And tada….
Coach Ratboy. .494
