I'm starting to question whether I want OBJ back.

Maybe the problem is that I should just stay off Twitter.

In the past week, OBJ has been posting some weird shit on Twitter regarding his status, his (cryptic) communications with Deebo Samuel, and his rehab. That's all well and good. He's a personality. So is Jalen Ramsey. So was Johnny Hekker. Nothing wrong with that.

But now it seems that he's called out Cam Akers over a "dispute" regarding the jersey number 3.

Perhaps this is just a joke that Cam is cool with and just doesn't translate well to Twitter. If its a real beef, though, that's something we don't need. Frankly, if its a serious comment, I'd question why he'd make it now, with his status up in the air.

I fully acknowledge that this could be a knee-jerk overreaction, but things like this make me question whether I want him back. Sure, his skill set is unique and valuable, but he's not the only WR out there. With Kupp, Robinson and Jefferson, we already have a great corps.

Again, perhaps an overreaction, but I'm not a fan of this stuff.

That doesn’t sound like a joke to me. Or how do you spin that into a joke?

I am more excited about the short term aspect of signing OBJ, than anything longer term.

I don’t think he’s a bad dude, and I don’t know if it is respect or couth, but there is an awareness level that is missing in a post like that. What does it say about you if you handle something that way?

But, I am now an older person.

Nah it's definitely not a joke. I don't think he's super pissed off but there's no way he's happy about it. The loss of Von was the big thing to me because him and OBJ were best friends. All his social media stuff lately has made me start to lean towards OBJ not coming back, and this is just another example. Players take their numbers very seriously and often pay LOTS of money to keep their number when going to new teams. Six-figure gifts are fairly common when someone wants to keep a number. Maybe Odell can get 13 from Wolford.

Though I prefer OBJ at 3 and Cam at 23, I'm sure Odell will pay Wolford a nice price for 13. But I don't like players switching numbers in general because it throws me off, especially if I'm used to OBJ's 3 and then see it on Cam. Too soon.

It's an ego thing clearly. So yeah OBJ sounds pissed. Thing is how can you claim a number when you still haven't signed with the team.

I still want OBJ back because we're better with him. But he's gotta chill, the Rams don't do drama.

Obviously Cooper Kupp is the WR1. Stafford's gonna look his way more than the others. And he should. Robinson will have a full training camp to build a rapport with Stafford. He'll be the WR2 the first half of the season and probably the rest of the season. How's OBJ gonna feel if he comes back as the WR3? Is he gonna want more targets? Or will he just be a We Not Me and do what is asked?

Because honestly, Van Jefferson is fine as a WR3. And he's been Stafford's deep threat. A 3rd year in the league and in the system. I expect to see some good things from VJ. He might not have OBJ's talent but if OBJ doesn't get his desired touches how's he gonna react to that? I might tend to lean towards not needing him. What if he was on his best behavior because he was on a half year prove it contract?

if objfa (obj free agent) wants the number so badly, sign a contract. akers has a contract. he gets a jersey number he wants cause he is currently signed. seeing how neither of them are very good at being on the field all the time doesnt help their individual causes. maybe they should wear a number that coordinates with how many games they actually play in a season.

We really don't know what the deal is. All will be revealed by actions. Could be a joke could be serious and it could be both but still mean entirely nothing.

We been racing about this dude on and off the field we shouldn't just jump off the Obj train without facts. That's what happened in Cleveland. Much to early to take any stance for me other than giving him the benefit of the doubt. He deserves that much. Everyone has there own view though.

Like I said we shall see but for me way to early to jump.

Glad I don't follow players on Twitter. I would need an interpreter.

I still want OBJ resigning with the Rams for the SB run. The Rams weapons would be a complete nightmare for defenses.

Kupp
Robinson
OBJ
Higbee
Akers/Henderson

What's with the snark?

Cam is a great dude who will kill on the field when 100% and OBJ just helped the Rams win the superbowl.

I’m not sure what to make if the original tweet but, it sounds like a selfish bitch at first glance.

Second reference about getting a “real contract” wtf does he expect? Did The Rams pay to have the surgery done on his knee? Where is he rehabbing?

He’s not going to be completely right this season. He might come back for the second half and playoffs but it will take time to play without free again.

Combine those things and I’m turning to walk away.
