Is there a big offseason trade for a star veteran player that the Rams could make? Will they trade any of those pics for such player?? Could Myles Garret be had for some pics.. or who’s available that could make an immediate impact in the secondary? Im sick as hell that the Rams are not playing tomorrow and already looking forward to free agency and the draft. Peace.

Seriously ... one of the advantages of going deep into the post-season ... and the NFC Championship is deep ... is that the Nothing is Happening part of the off-season is much shorter.

Here in NYC, they have been focusing on the Jets' and Giants' off-seasons for the past three months!

You only need to hang-on 1 more month. The 2026 League Year, and Free Agency begins on March 11.
That's a Wednesday but four weeks from today there should be a ton or reports and rumors about upcoming moves because despite the rules, teams and agents talk long before the official start of the League Year.

Personally, I kind of need a little break as the Rams had so many close / down-to-the-wire games, including all three of their playoff games. And, like you and many here, I am still in mourning because ... for the 2nd year in a row ... I believe the Rams may have been the 2nd best team in the NFL.

The Rams pushed the Eagles to the brink before coming-up short; and Philadelphia destroyed all its other playoff opponents. I hope I am wrong but I expect Seattle to win convincingly tomorrow. If that happens, it will be the Rams pushing the eventual Champs to-the-brink, while all the other games were cake-walks.

Still, with so many head coach openings, coupled with desirable coordinator positions, I have found things pretty interesting. Finally, while there is still a month before the League year, teams must get-down to the salary-cap-limit before then; and about a dozen teams will need to extend, restructure or release players to do so ... that must happen before March 11th.

Just one other thought ... a quick one ...
Should the Rams make one of the above moves, the Draft becomes far less interesting; and the acquisition of a top Edge or top-CB would take-up a ton of cap space, making Free Agency far less interesting.

You can make it a lot less of a cap hit in the first year by doing a big bonus payment

True that there are ways to manipulate the cap hit but I was responding to the OP's thoughts about trading for an established player. That would be a player already under contract; and pending a possible restructure, you inherit the contract.

Although, I am of the belief the Rams are in GOOD SHAPE with the cap, and can make some off-season moves, I am not on-board with the thought that the Rams have a TON of cap space. I am also factoring in that the Rams have a bunch of quality young veterans that will be up for new deals in the near future; and, finally,
I am Huge Believer in resigning your own pending free agents.

IMO, it's a combination of dollar and sense (common sense). The nice thing about the draft picks is the price is low, again, unless you get someone who can change the game, I am not expecting a huge trade because of the price that will need to be paid. That being communicated, there are also free agents available so I expect the Rams to be players, but I don't expect a big trade, however, I do expect several free agents to be signed and the Rams keeping their draft picks too.

I wouldn't be surprised if our 2nd pick gets traded or after a trade down from 13 we trade that pick. Definitely possible.

They can open more space with some extensions and restructures. What they have going for them is if Stafford & Adams only play two more years (probably only one for Adams), they will likley get a break on a rookie QB salary, unless they swing for the fences and get another vet like they did with Stafford.

So they can break out the credit card approach a bit, and yeah, they might end up with a reset year, but you can still win. 23' was a cap reset year and they made the playoffs and lost by one to Detroit. The Broncos last two years were essentially reset years, getting out from under Wilson's dead cap. So look what they have done despite that.

So long story short, go for it, although I prefer FA and keeping most of our high picks.

I like trades in October.....they're much less expensive. I like spending jack in free agency.

I like the idea somebody brought up about signing Jamel Dean. I'd add Rasheed Shaheed too.

And if he didn't find a starting job somewhere, I'd beat the bushes for Malik Willis. Perhaps give him a cap friendly multi year deal that escalates to huge jack when #9 retires.

With the possible exception of a soon to be 29 year old Max Crosby are there really that any players that might become available that would be really worth trading for who aren't comparable to the talent in free agency or even the draft?

If they are to make any trades methinks they might want to focus on moving a day three draft selection or two for some young player who no longer fits the scheme of his newly hired head coach.

A trade is possible all the way through the deadline after the season starts. I think Snead would be inclined to trade future assets to try and bolster the team for a run after the draft plays out and after the initial wave of injuries plays out.

Maybe deep future. But I'd question 2027 draft assets given how strong that draft class is supposed to be next year and so many players set to be free agents.

100% on needing a break. Too many coulda shoulda woulda nailbiters for me. And the Piss poor ST and CB play was fucking nauseating. Being honest with myself, the Rams could have won a SB this year but didn’t deserve to. DAdams and Poona Ford were nice adds but not enough to take the Rams all the way.
Now 2026… that’s a whole Nother story:
- 4 top 100 draft picks, including 2 R1 picks
- plenty of cap space to go after a 2-3 starter/key rotational players on defense. And possibility of getting creative adding more cap space for some valuable depth.
- option of having the NFLs entire #1 offense starting offense back
-early coaching juice addded for STs and offense. With more retooling likely
With that said, I’m optimistic the storm has passed and we are looking at clearer skys ahead as Rams fans.

What are you thinking we trade that pick for? That's what I'm asking.
If say the Jets and Steelers get into a bidding war, you could extract a couple extra top 75 picks for that pick, especially moving down to 21. Then maybe you could flip 21 for a player.

For moving back only 3 from 13 to 16, at best you get a 2nd, if there are other teams bidding for it. However, more likley a 3rd and a 4th or 5th, since only dropping 3 spots.

I do think its very possible an expensive trade for a vet could come after the draft, after June 1st, since it makes it easier for the trading team to move a high priced unhappy player.

So then it cones down to trading 27' picks when you might need a QB. That's why it's tough balancing the future needs vs all in. It would be great if Stafford can say he fully wants to play at least 2 more years. Takes a little pressure off of getting a QB.

Would be nice to add a Kingsbury type assistant to the defense. A vet DC type to help advise Shula. Someone who could give a different viewpoint on the defense, add some tweaks, etc...

I think they still need to add to the offense so it doesnt get stale. That's where a Lemon could add more RAC juice to offense or add an outside deep threat or both. Maybe dial back the 13 personal a bit if you add more WR talent. Would allow you to attack teams in 11 & 13 equally well.
