BREAKING DOWN THE MOCK: In Josh Edwards' latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft on CBS Sports, the Los Angeles Rams are projected to use a late first-round selection on a potential successor to Matthew Stafford.

THE RAMS' PICK

  • Round 1, Pick 31 (Projected): Brendan Sorsby, QB, Cincinnati
THE RATIONALE:Edwards projects the Rams (picking at No. 31, suggesting a deep playoff run) select Sorsby to be the future of the franchise. Sorsby is viewed as a high-upside developmental quarterback who would benefit immensely from sitting behind a veteran like Matthew Stafford.

The selection addresses the long-term future at the most critical position on the field, giving the team a "franchise quarterback" candidate who can be groomed for the starting role after Stafford's tenure concludes.

What yall think?

Here is a some highlights. Reminds of Mahomes with mobility, Stafford with the throws, but Rodgers when it comes to velocity

If he had any of those he’d be a #1 overall. He’s a decent prospect, but I’m not sold on a first rounder for him
