I find it interesting how the public opinion of who has the best uniforms/helmets has changed over the years.
It appears impossible for people to separate the performance of the teams from the rating of the uniforms.
There was a time when everyone thought the Seahawks uniforms were downright gross. Now people on ESPN and NFLC think its a good look. Success and money make ugly look good.
It reminds me of a story my father told me a zillion years ago.
My grandfather wanted my father to marry this particular girl with a ton of money but unfortunate looks. And when my father balked, saying her face was tough to look at, my grandfather said, "when you put her bankbook in front of her face she looks just like Hedy Lamarr".
For all you young guys who have no idea who this 1930's movie star was....

I was considering those Steelers uniforms, and they may just be the ugliest, but it's just so darn funny and dizzying to watch on TV.
I'm wondering if they might have a disorienting effect on the opposition. That plus the fact that it just takes guts to wear your bee costume on the football field may make it the most epic uniform ever.
