Obviously the Cape and Marthas Vineyard are within striking distance as well.

There's a ton to do in NYC.

But one inexpensive cool little thing I like is riding the Roosevelt Island Tram to the island and back. It's a fun little skyride and you can take some good pictures of Manhattan from the island. It's basically the price of a subway ride.

So two weeks to go before my trip. We have tickets to the Lion King and the Giants vs Redskins sorted already and I'm looking at getting Yankees tickets too. I will get some photos up here for you guys.

Cool fact, I'm actually seeing the Giants twice this season as I am also going to the Rams game in London in October. Maybe they'll become my second team although I have a soft spot for the Chiefs after seeing them in London last year and meeting a bunch of their fans who were really cool.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far!

So we made it to Boston. Jet lag is kicking in, I'm wide awake and have been since about 5am.

Just a quiet one last night, we arrived at the hotel about 8pm. We found a wee bar showing the eagles game and had a few beers, we also had our first Boston lobster roll. Very nice. It's way more humid here than I thought it would be.

We are staying at a beautiful hotel right at the harbour, I'll get some pics up for you guys soon.

Right fellas, help me out with this American tipping culture thing. 10% if the service is bad, 20% if it's OK and what, 25/30% if it's outstanding? That's mad. At home it's fuck all for poor service and 15% at a push for really good service.

And sales tax? If I'm firing in to the wine you can't expect me to do maths too!

I'm not stingy, the price is the price and I'll pay whatever, but just gonna make it clear what that price actually is please?! Ok, rant over. It's not a big deal really.

Also your portion sizes are obscene but I love food so that's not a problem!!

Just tip what you feel appropriate, 10% - 15% is your benchmark and adjust accordingly.

Remember most of the places you won't be going back to, unless you are making somewhere a regular drinking place then be sure to overtip the first couple of times to ensure they remember you ;-)

The least I tip is 15% and up to 25% if I know servers are splitting all tips.

Sometimes if she's cute I'll hand her an extra $10 wrapped around my business card lol

Does that work Rhody?!

Away for some lobster tonight. Spent the day today at bunker hill, Charlestown and went out to Harvard. Boston/Cambridge is a fantastic city. Managed to grab a ticket for the patriots tomorrow night (booooo!) but hey, the NFL is the NFL.

If service is bad I tip 10%.

If it's good 20%

If its really good 25%

I've tipped more in some situations, though.

freaking liar, you wrap a hundred around your card and ask the waitresses for a handy in the bathroom.

naaaa I dont pay for a handy, I just sit on my left hand until it falls asleep..then it feels like someone else is doing it for me !!!

Man I have a sore head today. Turns out Americans suck at karaoke, my wee sister won the contest.

Saw tons of Texans fans in the bar last night, they were getting a hard time from the locals haha. I also got chatting to a Seahawks fan. He couldn't believe that British people actually like football. He was a cool guy though.

I'll fire up some pics in a bit.
