I'm confident after it's all said and done this year, guys will be buying into McVay's culture hard and will be willing to take a slight pay-cut to stay.

I'm also of the belief that guys like Tavon, Barron, and Quinn will be gone. Plus we have a lot of one year rentals too, so color me optimistic in getting our stars resigned. Could see another huge wave of starters next year with a big push from rookies and second year guys to start. I just get a sense our new regime will not tolerate lackluster play from anyone, regardless of the last name on the back.

So far (yes, it's early) guys like Barron and Quinn have been struggling a bit, and tbh, when Austin muffed that punt I thought to myself, "He's a goner!!" We can find a mid round guy who brings exactly what he brings at a more affordable price. Alec needs to step up, but he's a keeper, and if Tru keeps up his play (although at times he drives me mad with his loose coverage at times). he'll be a keeper too.

Yeah we saw the real Tru last night. He's not an elite CB you can count on to shut down the opposition's top wideout. Dude is hit and miss with a top draw, is more of a #2 CB on a playoff defense.

This next year's draft is going to be heavy on defense. Maybe FA too if they can't get Donald to agree to a deal, as they might elect to move on by trading him and signing or drafting DL.

Every single FA acquistion has performed well.

The draftees that have played sure look like keepers.

Give this front office/coacing staff a few seasons of full drafts and FA moves.

When I watched the Carolina versus Buffalo game I could clearly see they were missing any type of first string wide receivers.

And now we got them along with their offensive line coach.

I want a middle linebacker

It's still early but the defensive needs are pretty deep. Not just ILBs but perhaps more importantly a pass rushing OLB edge guy, probably a big slab of beef or two for the DL rotation to stuff the damn run, and CB along with safeties.

Defense might very well rebound and our thoughts on needs will change with it. But right now meh. Looks like a heavy defense offseason might be needed.
