Rang says it's almost too logical for the Rams to trade with Browns for their 2 first rounders.

He says whoever is in the #2 spot takes either a QB or Clowney (not Matthews).

We can get Matthews 3 to 5 spots down. Or we could take Robinson instead.

Jags are almost certainly going for a QB. He though either Manziel or Bortles will be in Jax. Expects Houston to take Bridgewater.

Watkins is very explosive, head and shoulders the best WR in draft. Not sure of his straight line speed though. Curious to see him run at Combine.

He think Fisher will take advantage of the incredible talent at OT at the top (Matthews / Robinson) and take a WR later. He mentioned Evans and Lee. Said Evans is a bit of a project.

Said there is a huge drop off in DE after Clowney.

He would be surprised if we used the #2 pick ourselves. It's going to the highest bidder. If not the Browns, then someone else. Expects us to take an OT first in the trade down. Rams need to strike now while the iron is hot instead of trading for next years picks.

I admittedly don't watch much ncaa fb so i could be way off base here, but if Evans is a project, please just say no.

The Browns have 2 firsts, 1 second, 2 thirds, 2 fourths ..seven selections in the first four rds! They have the power of hoo doo!

Next team with that kind of draft power is the 9ers who have 1 first, 2 seconds & 2 thirds= five picks in the first three rds.

I like this scenario - I would love those two 1st roundersfrom the Dawg Pound. I really want us to focus on improving the o-line through the draft. Keep the talent cheap and get through growing pains along the way.

Yah-huh. Cleveland was going to give us that in 2012, but didn't have the cojones until after the fact.
Now they know what the going rate is.

Hey, don't rain on my parade PhxRam! That trade is the first step in my master plan.

Isn't this the same guy who said we didn't have much leverage in a different thread? Or was that someone else?

EDIT: Never mind, that was Russ Lande.

I would settle for just the 2 firsts from the Browns. Thats a deal for the Browns of 100 pts. equivalent to a 4th round pick according to the draft trade chart, assuming the Colts lose to the Pats this week and pick 26th.

Having the 4th, 13th, and 26th pick in the first round would be outrageous in this draft.

That was Russ Lande, who I think doesn't understand the draft as well as he understands scouting players.

Correct me if I am wrong but there is nobody near rg3 or luck level talent in this draft.

Was a different guy but this is why I don't pay attention to draft stuff... Just don't watch enough college ball either

RG3 isn't even RG3 talent anymore. It's just a QB driven league, and CLE can ill afford to miss out on one of the top prospects yet again.

Sure there will be plenty of players that will suck as bad as RG3:heh:

what is the talent difference in QBs this year?

Last year once you got beyond Luck & RG3 the talent difference was drastic. After some reading it seems like once you get past Bridgewater the talent level is all comparable.

Houston & the Browns are in heavy need for a QB...the Jags are in need but not in the position that the other two are.

Usually if the QBs are fairly equal but expected to very high, like Bortles and Manziel are, then a team may fall in love with one of them. For instance, the Brown may love Manziel and may want to jump over Jax to ensure getting him.

Well, there are 3 who could be pretty evenly matched after the combine and pro days (as it relates to individual team boards), and the Rams are the team that has what's behind door #2. Other teams are going to have to outbid each other to get that pick. Cleveland has been burned repeatedly by the Rams in the draft. In 2010, Holmgren reportedly offered his draft for the rights to Bradford, and in 2012 the Browns failed to pony up big like Washington did, so they lost out on RG3. They can't afford to fuck around anymore, and their fans will go into full revolt if they don't get one of the top two this year.
