Morning Ram-blings: Plan 'B' for St. Louis
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/post/_/id/18743/morning-ram-blings-plan-b-for-st-louis

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- Whether the proposed football stadium on the north St. Louis riverfront gets built or not, there's no doubting that the area for which it's intended is in desperate need of some sort of a makeover.

By now, we've gone over the plan to redevelop that area by way of building a new stadium and surrounding it with new industry and green area. It's the plan the St. Louis stadium task force is diligently pursuing in hopes of keeping the Rams in town and improving a blighted area.

So what happens if the stadium doesn't get built?

That's a question answered by David Hunn of stltoday.com, in his latest piece for the Post-Dispatch.

According to Hunn's report, there have already been discussions about possible alternatives if the stadium doesn't get built. Those plans include many of the things included in the initial plan save for the stadium and the parking. Those plans include residential towers, hotels, shops, possible business startup locations and green space and parks.

In all, the plan is intended to revitalize 180 acres of land that undoubtedly needs revamping.

Whether or not you believe the Rams should stay in St. Louis or go to Los Angeles, it shouldn't be hard to get on board with any plan intended to make a once thriving city better.

Holy smokes, if the city of St. Louis doesn't realize how beneficial an NFL team is, then downtown deserves to remain on the downtrodden.
