It's Game Day!

The GDT is a live thread tradition here at ROD.

While we all get fired up watching the game, please remember one of our core principles; we always aim to show respect for our team.

Despite the emotional highs and lows watching a game, we will moderate this thread with that in mind, however please refrain from name calling. This applies to players, the Rams organization, and others.

This is our team. Win or lose. Good days and bad.

Go Rams!

Well... After that Badger game, my Sig is once again relevant. I had been meaning to change it but time has wrapped around to make it relevant again.

Rams, please don't fuck this up somehow. I need a win right now. I'm too young to develop a drinking habit.

Ohio St just threw a monkey wrench in the championship now. So who joins Clemson, Georgia and Oklahoma?

God... Either Bama or Ohio State, both of which make me want to eat a cyanide sandwich.

Bama would basically pull an Ohio state of last year and sneak in with one less loss instead of 2 losses and a conference championship. Helps that the committee put them at 5 so they don't need to make any huge jump.

On the other hand, their strength of schedule/record suck and their once "quality loss" is now a 3 loss Auburn team that got handled by 3 touchdowns in the SEC title game.

On the other hand, Ohio state won a BIG10 title game between two sloppy teams and didn't dominate points wise. Add on that inexcusable Iowa loss and they really could have used a big showing tonight, which they did on get.

So it's either the perennial SEC dynasty with one of the worst resumes in the nation, or it's a team that won a close title game, but is inconsistent and has 2 losses, one of which is a 55-24 beating to Iowa.

If I had to guess, they are just going to slip NO.5 Bama into the 4 seed. Did it last year with Ohio over Penn state, so there is precedent. Everyone outside of Moonshine swilling SEC fans is going to bitch about it, but Saban and the boys will get into the playoff.

It was started by a few dudes in the mid 80s. No apparent reason. Just something to do I guess.
Ok, it was me in the 80's, i confess! Why? Because I'm the DUDE. Melonheads abide...

Here's to you Jeff Fisher. You never gave us a winning season. But when it came to Bruce Arians and taking out his QB, You showed the way my friend. You showed the way.

I'm sorry, but they're showing this game in St. Louis? Has that been the case every week?

Put Alabama in and call it a day. You get the Clemson-Bama rematch. They stand the best chance of beating Clemson (which is my #1 desire). And Ohio State has no business being the first two-loss team to make the CFP after that blowout loss to Iowa. That's especially true after the committee chose them over PSU last year under similar circumstances.

Plus, Alabama's strength of schedule is better than people claim. They beat FSU when they had Deondre Francois. People will argue FSU isn't a quality win, but with Francois, that's a 9 or 10-win team.(it's like arguing that beating the Packers with Rodgers isn't a quality win because the Packers suck with Hundley) They also beat the entirety of the SEC West outside of Auburn. And Auburn beat them in a rivalry game in Auburn (as we all know, rivalry games can get a little screwy). Auburn is a top 10 team. They lost to an UGA team they previously destroyed because of all their injuries.

I'll be livid if Ohio State gets in. That'll be the third time in four years that the committee put them in over a team that was arguably more deserving. If you're going to justify letting Ohio State in last year, you have to keep them out this year.

I am a SEC guy through and through, but I want Oklahoma to win it all. I hate UGA. I hate Clemson. And I strongly dislike both Bama and Ohio State. All I want is Clemson to go down in the semi-finals. That's why I want Bama in.

I don't care who gets in. It's gonna be a great playoff, and the best team will win.
