Damnit, was hoping he'd fall a bit further(pipe dream), I think he is going to be a beast. Great pick.

The Chiefs need a run stuffer at ILB and Mr. Ryan fits the bill. With the 117th pick the KC Chiefs select:

Jake Ryan, ILB/OLB, Michigan
Height: 6-2. Weight: 240.
40 Time: 4.65.
Projected Round (2015): 3-5.

WalterFootball.com: 4/4/15: Ryan showed flashes of his 2012 form in 2014, and looked better on a weekly basis. For the year, he totaled 112 tackles with 14 tackles for a loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception and three passes broken up. Ryan had three tackles for a loss with double-digit tackles against Penn State and Utah. He is a tough run-defender who needs to improve his pass coverage for the NFL. Ryan was solid at the East-West Shrine and ran faster than expected at the Combine. Overall Rank: 99 (ESPN)

The Rams feel they need some insurance at DE with Hayes and Sims both out of contract next year so they select

Za'Darius Smith DE Kentucky

The Rams 4 round return in the ROD Post FA mock is as follows:

Rd1 La'el Collins OT/OG
Rd2 Laken Tomlinson OG
Rd3 Duke Johnson RB
Rd4 Za'Darius Smith DE

A pretty good return if I do say so myself. I know those that wanted a QB will be disappointed but I just didn't see value at my picks with who was available.

Nice picks man, There's not much in the QB cupboard this year tbh, and I think that Fisher agrees, Foles & Keenum in FA sorta says a lot. BTW Keenum's listed as our #2 on the Rams site...

Here's how the pick window works:
12 hour window
2200 - 0600 is dead time and doesn't count against a mocker.

So if a mocker is put on the clock at 9 PM (2100 hours) he expends one hour of his time until the dead time starts at 2200 hours (10 PM). He has 11 hours left and his clock would resume at 0600 hours which would make his deadline 1700 hours (0600 + 11 hours = 1700).

Any pick made by a previous mocker during the dead time is counted as having been made at 0600 the following day. The previous mocker makes a pick at 1:00 AM (0100 hours) so the next mocker's 12 hour window starts at 6:00 AM (0600 hours) and would end at 6:00 PM (1800 hours). If the previous mocker made their pick at 4:30 AM (o430 hours) the next mocker's clock still starts at 0600 hours and still ends at 1800 hours. If a pick is made at 4:00 PM (1600 hours) the next mocker's window would start at 1600 hours, break off at 2200 hours (having used 6 of his hours) and start again at 0600 hours. His clock would end at 1200 hours (0600 + the remaining 6 hours = 1200 hours).

Understood - whats also throwing me out is that I need to remember its a different time-zone, I'm taking it off my time not Eastern time - doh!

That explanation was for everyone's benefit @shaunpinney . If you're not used to it, military time can be difficult to get a handle on so I thought a little explanation would come in handy for everyone.

Thanks for your help and participation in the mock sir. Love your always positive attitude about everyone's picks.(y) Especially considering how @Ramrocket is really screwing the Rams with all those off the wall picks he's been making.

I've been thinking too on speeding this up by next year, could we do a mock where each round is given a 24 / 48 hour window? a similar way to the way the actual draft works over the three of days

What I mean is in the month prior to the draft we do R1 exactly a month before? or at least that weekend. e.g. taking this years dates it would be

ROD draft R1: 4th - 5th April
ROD draft R2&3: 11th-12th April
ROD draft R4&5: 18th-19th April
ROD draft R6&7: 25th-26th April

This way it gives definite windows of drafting, people usually sign in on the weekends, it seems when there's a flurry of draft picks anyhow, it allows us to have the week to analyse remaining players, and time to do trades etc with other GMs - also there's not a lot of time left until the actual draft, in that week in the run-up to the draft the GMs could throw together a starting line up for their chosen team, i know its all for fun, but all good games need rules ;)

Something to think about? What say you @Alan & other GMs?
