I have a gluten for punishment so watch the final 2:00 again and what sticks in my head is the announcers saying Hill is a 13 year vet... Never should have made that throw

Poor play at the qb position has doomed the Rams season. We shot ourselves in the foot all day but still win with even average game management. Not the first time this year either. And we are looking at more of the same for the rest of this year and beyond. So do you gamble 2015 season on bradford? I doubt any of these rookies fill the bill in 2015 take your pick of the lot. I think the 2015 seasons success rides on identifying and either trading for or signing a proven veteran, and as we all know that's easier said than done. Sheesh I'm depressing myself.
In a vacuum? No. From what it looks like the Rams are going to have in terms of options? Probably so.

You said you could list a few QB's that would counter what I was saying.

Other than Luck, I don't see many QB's in the last few years that would be worth trading up for and Winston/Mariota/Hundley are not of Luck's caliber. Of the few guys in the recent past that could arguably be worth trading up for, I don't think the 2015 class measure up.

Andrew Luck
Ben Roethlisberger
Matt Ryan
Joe Flacco
Cam Newton
Sam Bradford

The rookie version of all those QBs on this team would be enough for playoff contention. Especially if we shore up the interior OL.

Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota could both get it done here well enough for us to make the playoffs. And imo, Winston has the ability to be truly great.

And yet we had plenty of time to make up for the blocked FG. We didn't have time to make up for the interception. That's the difference.

True. I don't agree with the playcall, at all. Especially considering WTF happened last season with Clemens in a similar situation vs Seattle.

But you keep watching... :sneaky:

Well yeah because I'm mentally ill and need to be put away.;)

I'm afraid I won't be going to the ARZ game, though. Bills are close and it hurts too much to make that 3.5 hour one way drive. It just hurts like hell... :(

Mariota's offense bothers me.

It's easy to avoid interceptions when you have the windows he does.

Winston throwing lots of picks against bad ACC teams bothers me, even excluding his awful character.

A lot of Winston's picks have come on anticipation throws. I'll take that. He's a sophomore QB that throws to spots with anticipation. That's rare. And that's one of the reasons why I believe he'll be special.

But Winston is a gunslinger. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'd like to see our D play better, not just as good, in the second half.

I'm not meaning to excuse the Rams D, that Matthews kid gashed our run D, and this was an area where we had been showing more success recently. The Rams D was on the field far to long, and this is because our O wasn't taking time off the clock. You could see after the Chargers had that long drive until JJ closed it out with the pick 6, then the ball went right back to SD and our D had no rest. Our O was moving the ball on the ground, but wouldn't stick with it, and Hill was flinging the ball into protection all day, ... kinda surprised he was only intercepted twice. All those offensive penalties helped kill drives, and Hill showed us why he is a life-long back-up. jmo.

Can't you guys argue about which QB you want in the draft on the NCAA draft forum

I'm in shock and am utterly depressed. But I have not turned to cigs or alchahol so I guess that's a good thing. I'm very very sad

This is the vent thread. We can vent about the current state of the QB and discuss our solutions. You can vent about our discussions...I guess.

All you had to do is run it 4 straight times. If you can't get 3 yards with 4 tries you don't deserve to be in the the NFL anyway.

I'm still down for Hundley, and hopefully we don't have to trade to get him. Tough game, tough call on the TD taken back. Good fight though.

Go Rams.

Frankly, I'm down with anyone that can do the job and give us hope for the future. I am just so beyond losing. This team has too much talent to be 4-7.

Even without Quick, our WRs stepped up today. And I still believe that Tavon will get there. You're starting to see flashes. Route running still needs to improve but as I've said before, with small and young WRs...that tends to come in Year 3.

Stedman is starting to come on. You can see it with him.
