    Thoughts?

My 1st reaction was to have 2 events. The 1st would be who the Rams pick with their highest pick in the 2016 Draft. The 2nd would be at what overall position in the 1st round would the Rams pick, (obviously #15 would be a big favourite). The problem would be if you pick the Rams to Draft at #15 you're not going to pick Wentz - so both bets would be pretty much the same thing.

We could have a series of events: Rams 1st pick plus at what overall position are notable players selected, (Ragland, Lynch, Hunter Henry, Corey Coleman), etc. The trick would be to have players who could be picked high but who could also fall.

We'd need to decide when the closing time for entries would be. Obviously people would like to wait until the last minute but that would disadvantage people who chose early. Keeping odds updated in the final few days would be a real pain but if they're not updated some challenges could become freebies. I'd rather close it down 2 or 3 days before the Draft, just for fair play.

What level of stakes would we be looking at? Since the reset most members don't have big stacks.
Should we refund losing bets? I have no problem with this as a promotional/encourage participation event.

Does the overall money winner/most winners picked get a custom title?

    Again, thoughts and opinions please.

    I like the idea!!

Could be one about trade up, or stand pat.

These bets might be the kind you limit to $1000 or something. Chance to double your money on the 50/50 type like trading up as suggested.

    Could be fun.

My personal opinion is that all, Bets at the ROD Sports-Book should ALWAYS be treated like your Playing "Texas-Holdum " IF you want to go "All In" you should be able to do it at any time!!(y):D:yess:

If I put up a wager on the day following Friday being a Saturday at odds of 1,000,000 to 1 and I allow you, (and only you), to bet everything on it then tomorrow you will be the richest ROD poster. No-one will be able to catch you and you will be guaranteed to be the richest ROD poster at the reset next March.
    Will that make you happy?

We can give everyone more ROD money. We can put up wagers in the Sportsbook that are so lopsided in member's favour that members who don't bet in the Sportsbook couldn't possibly end up as the richest ROD poster at the end of the year.

The brief we've been given is to encourage as much interaction as possible throughout ROD. If 1 or 2 members get to dominate the rich list it would discourage others from betting in the Sportsbook or making posts because they couldn't become the richest poster or most successful ROD gambler. If I gave someone else that previous wager you would not have the chance to become the richest ROD poster it it would likely reduce your interest in the Sportsbook.

Behind the scenes we've had conversations about the best way forward. We've discussed keeping Sportsbook money separate from posting money but it's messy and it doesn't solve the admin issues we have with the Sportsbook. Books don't always close when they should and bets aren't timed so we can't tell whose bets were genuine and who bet on an event that had already ended. We can't address typos so if a bet gets put up at 10/1 or 101/1 rather than 10/11 we can't correct the odds for those who bet on it. We can allow everyone to bet whatever they want whenever they want but that will make it easier for 1 or 2 members to exploit mistakes. If that's what members want then that's what they can have. Personally i'd rather have some Sportsbook betting competitions that give all members an equal chance to win, cost little or no $ROD to enter, have a customisable title bar for the winners, and allows the participants to keep their winnings. That's really what the thread was designed to discuss.

For what it's worth though there are others who agree with your point of view.

Betting is always about playing to win. In 2014 I started with "Zip" and ended a Couple of Billion. And I wasn't alone at the Top! So, I say " Let's Play, Let the game Begin!!" It's the American Way!

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas now would be the time.
Personally i'm in favour of a 'Steal $ROD from @DaveFan'51 and @-X-' Challenge. $47K since the reset!
