Former Lions, Dolphins safety arrested, doesn’t seem to mind
Posted by Darin Gantt on April 5, 2017

For a guy who got arrested, Louis Delmas has a lot to smile about.

According to David Neal of the Miami Herald, the former Lions and Dolphins safety was arrested for taunting police while they were trying to test his friend during a DUI stop.

Delmas was the passenger in a car driven by Andry Madrigal, who got a DUI and was arrested for knowingly driving with a suspended license — since it was the 30th and 31st driving citations he’s received since 2006. But while Miami-Dade Police were administering roadside sobriety tests to Madrigal, officers reported that Delmas kept yelling at them, despite multiple requests to stop.

So they arrested him for a municipal ordinance violation, resisting arrest without violence.

He apparently thought this was a hoot, as he provided them with one of the best arrest mug shots we’ve seen in a while.

Delmas hasn’t been heard from on the field since 2015 training camp with the Dolphins, when he suffered a second torn ACL which ended his career. He spent his first five years in the league with the Lions, and was a good-enough player when he was healthy, which wasn’t often.

It’s good to know none of this has dampened his joy for life.

Trevone Boykin arrested for second time in 11 days

Trevone Boykin was arrested Thursday for the second time in 11 days, this development not related to a new incident but part of the fallout from the initial one.

According to TMZ, the Seahawks quarterback was booked for a possible parole violation. He was arrested on March 27 under suspicion of public intoxication and marijuana possession after a vehicle in which he was a passenger backed into a group of people.

Boykin reportedly was on probation at the time of last month’s arrest.

His probation stemmed from a guilty plea to a 2015 misdemeanor for resisting arrest.

To date, the Seahawks have maintained public support for Boykin, although coach Pete Carroll used such caveats as “early indications” and “we’ll see what happens” in respect to the situation possibly developing. Now that it has developed, it’s unclear how, if at all, the franchise’s backing of the 23-year-old will be affected.

According to TMZ, Boykin was released on $2,500 bond, awaits a May 3 arraignment and faces up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Help me out PT.....Guy is in car....guy gets arrested for being in car, intoxicated, which is considered public. Guy also has weed on his possession. Somehow, stated weed is discovered and also is a crime of possession. Later, said guy is also found out to be on probation and gets arrested....again? Am I following this story correctly?
If you're drunk....do you just stay in the club until you are sober?

It does seem to be a strange set of occurrences. A decent attorney should be able to get him off though. The NFL however will not look kindly upon this no matter how it ends up.

I once got hammered in a bar, drove a few blocks to a parking lot, put my keys in my pocket and went to sleep in the backseat. Woke up the next morning behind bars. It turns out that the parking lot belonged to a fire station.

They broke the window of my car, dragged me out and had me arrested. I would have put myself in our 'Dumbass of the Day" thread if ROD had been around in those days. :)

49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock arrested
Posted by Darin Gantt on April 7, 201

The 49ers have a new coach and front office, but some of the same old problems.

According to NBC Bay Area, 49ers cornerback Tramaine Brock has been arrested in Santa Clara in connection to a domestic incident.

Jail records show that he’s still in custody at the moment, though there are no other details at the moment.

Via Mike Rosenberg of the Seattle Times, who researches these things, that leaves the 49ers and the Seahawks as the only two teams in the league to have at least one player arrested each year since 2012.

Cornerback Tramaine Brock was a member of the 49ers organization when he was arrested in connection to a domestic incident in Santa Clara on Thursday.

He’s not a member of the organization any more. The 49ers announced on Friday that they have released Brock.

Brock was arrested for felony domestic violence after officers responded to a call on Thursday night and found Brock’s girlfriend with marks around her neck. NBC Bay Area reported bail was set at $50,000 and Brock was freed after posting it on Friday.

Brock is now a free agent, but his legal issues make a quick return to work in the NFL an unlikely turn of events.

The character that even Jeff Fisher didn't like. that's rare.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/e...ng-sentences-four-years-prison-201255440.html

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young has been sentenced to four years in prison after pleading no contest to assault in a 2016 street fight, per TMZ Sports.

Young, who played with the team in 2011 and 2012, has struggled to stay out of trouble before, during and after his brief NFL career. He pleaded no contest to one count of felony battery causing serious bodily injury in an incident that occurred January 2016 after Young had sneaked out of a court-ordered mental facility in Los Angeles. According to the report, Young got into an altercation with a neighbor that involved a deadly weapon and has been in county jail since last August.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver was a star at Boise State and was drafted in Round 2 (44th overall) of the 2011 NFL draft, but he suffered from fights with opponents and teammates alike, disagreements with the coaching staff during a tumultuous 26-game stint and — infamously — was arrested twice in the same day in 2013. Young first was charged with driving under the influence, and later that day he was arrested again trying to break into an impound facility where his car was being stored.

Young was cut by the Lions in February 2013, claimed by the St. Louis Rams but released after only a week on their roster. He seemingly has been in trouble ever since.

Young also was arrested the same week as the DUI, charged with assaulting a police officer after he allegedly broke into a house. He also was arrested on five counts (one felony and four misdemeanors) of battery in 2014 after attacking his lawyer but did not go to jail, receiving five years’ probation.

Over the years, family members have spoken out with their worry about Young’s mental health and stability. Young’s father told Sports Illustrated in 2013 that he believes his son’s behavior can be attributed to a brain disorder connected to a concussion Young suffered as a rookie in 2011.

It’s an unfortunate end for Titus Young, who is still only 27.

It may mean the end of his NFL career but not necessarily his ability to have a good life, Mr. Florio. Things don't look like they're heading in that direction but I didn't come out of my tailspin until age 29. The question is will he avail himself of any help that is offered to him?

Reports: Junior Galette arrested in Mississippi

Washington Redskins linebacker Junior Galette was arrested this weekend in Biloxi, Miss. on charges of disorderly conduct and failing to comply, according to WLOX-TV.

Galette allegedly was arrested Friday night after getting into a fight at MGM Park and running away during a spring break weekend event in Biloxi.

Galette’s attorney, Ralph Whalen, confirmed the arrest to the New Orleans Advocate and that Galette had been released on bail.

Galette was arrested in January 2015 on domestic abuse allegations, which were later dropped. However, a civil case is still active against Galette in that matter. A video surfaced later that year showing Galette swinging a belt at someone on a beach as part of a fight in a separate matter.

Galette has missed the last two seasons in the NFL due to separate Achilles tendon injuries with the Washington Redskins. He re-signed with the team again this offseason despite not appearing in a single game with the team. He has not played a football game since 2014 with the New Orleans Saints.

This is not an arrest story, although it may end up that way, but I didn't want to start a thread over it and this is the closest fit I could find...so there you go.

Marshawn Lynch knocks phone out of teenager’s hand
Posted by Mike Florio on April 11, 2017

The Marshawn Lynch Unretirement Tour currently isn’t going very well.

Beyond the imminent-then-plodding return (which still hasn’t happened), the arm-wrestling event for which he’s apparently escaping NFL scrutiny because he’s officially retired, and the recent need to leak interest in joining the Patriots in an effort to break the apparent impasse with the Raiders, Lynch could have a more tangible problem on his hands.

Via TMZ, Lynch knocked a phone out of the hands of a teenager who was taking video of Lynch after he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport. Per TMZ, the owner of the phone claims the screen was cracked and that he is considering filing assault charges.

The video also shows Lynch later walking past the same teens and turning to spit on the ground. It’s characterized as a “spit in their direction,” but that seems to be a stretch.

It wouldn’t be a stretch for Lynch to face scrutiny under the Personal Conduct Policy. Whether his status of the reserve/retired list exempts him from that policy is a question we’ll be posing to the league office.

Report: Louis Murphy arrested at Tampa airport for carrying concealed weapon
Posted by Curtis Crabtree on April 12, 2017

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Louis Murphy was arrested Wednesday morning at the Tampa International Airport for illegally carrying a concealed weapon, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.

Murphy’s arrest was for felony possession of a concealed firearm after the weapon was discovered at a security checkpoint. He was released on $2,000 bond later Wednesday afternoon.

Murphy did not play in a game for the Buccaneers last season. He began the year on the physically unable to perform list and suffered another injury once he returned to practice. The team later released him in November.

Murphy appeared in 17 games for Tampa Bay over two seasons (2014-15) with 41 catches for 578 yards and two touchdowns. He spent three years with the Oakland Raiders and one year each with the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants before heading to Tampa Bay.

Steelers cornerback not arrested for gun at airport

Senquez Golson must have caught a TSA agent in a better mood than Louis Murphy did.

According to a report from TMZ, the Steelers cornerback was detained briefly but not arrested when security stopped him in an Alabama airport and found a handgun and 23 bullets in his carry-on bag.

But police in Mobile offered to keep the gun and let him retrieve it when he returned to Alabama.

Golson, the Steelers second-round pick in 2015, hasn’t played in an NFL game yet because of shoulder and foot injuries.

And it’s unclear why his treatment was different than Murphy, who was arrested in Tampa yesterday when a concealed weapon was discovered at a security checkpoint.

Wow, concealed weapon in an airport... I sure hope the dumbest thing he did that day was forget he was carrying which is still pretty dumb. But to think you could go through an airport where they are permitted to put their hands down your underwear whenever they want you'd think you'd leave the weapon in the car at least.

The woman who accused former 49ers defensive lineman Ray McDonald of raping her has refused to testify against him, and as a result the charge has been dropped.

The San Jose Mercury News reports that the women sued McDonald and received a settlement of more than $100,000.

The woman accused McDonald of raping her at his house on December 15, 2014. The 49ers cut him shortly after. He was later signed by the Bears but released after he was arrested and accused of domestic violence and child endangerment.

McDonald, who was accused of domestic violence three times in his NFL career, has not played in an NFL game since the 49ers released him.
