I forgot all about the Ali fight. Even the older, out of shape Ali is impressive when he decides to be.

And I didn't know about all the charitable work Alzado did. I have a knew take on Lyle - good man.

He was a mean, roid-raging monster from what I saw.

It was well done showcased his ups and downs and what finally led to his demise. Being born in 1966 and being someone who worked out relentlessly I never understood the reason to do what he did, however, I was in his position either.

Big Guy with a great heart that played every play like it was his last I feel bad for his family especially his son Justin who you can see is still affected by his death.

Missed this...Always liked Alzado, Matuzak, Millen, and Hendricks....heck I liked Lester Hayes too...and the guy that made me wanna be a db, Jack Tatum. Still haven't read his book yet...Even as a Rams fan, I respected those guys...

Not sure I want to watch this. Loved Alzedo as a Bronco - not so much as a Raiduh. Just a sad story though that I don't know if I want to relive.

It is a sad story, I have an even sadder one.
My youngest son was an extremely late bloomer (he's a soph. in college now wrestled 103 as a freshman in HS was 5ft tall is now 6ft 180 and in the middle of puberty). In grade school he played on a traveling baseball team with a great little ball player who was even smaller than him. After years of waitng for their kid to grow (they were baseball fanatics ) his folks finally took the kid to a Dr. and put him on HGH ,he grew and so did the in-operable tumor in his brain. He died just short of HS graduation. Not sayin' for sure the HGH caused it but to be his parents and live with the doubt must be horrible.
I bless the day Austin started wrestling because he only had to compete with people his size and the temptation to go that route wasn't as pervasive.

I was a Bronco fan when LA was one and loved the guy, and who can hate the Raiders back in those days? they epitomized why we love the game, besides they always seemed to beat the Cowboys on Monday Night, so unless they were playing the Broncos or the Cardinals I was rooting for them
