NFL, DirecTV to Offer Streaming Packages of Live Games

The NFL and DirecTV will break ground with packages to stream games directly to your computer, mobile device or gaming console this season...for a price.
This is big. Not just big news big or big business big but all of those and then more big. Real big.
The NFL and DirecTV, nearing the end of their exclusivity deal in 2015, will offer live streaming of out of market games this season with packages starting at...$200. Click that link to see what devices will be supported (surprisingly, a lot) and if yours will be able to feed your Rams crack addiction this season.
Now we're of a certain breed here, TSTers. We're football fans. Big football fans. You're reading NFL news in the middle of July when there is no NFL news unless we're talking about guys breaking the law. Or hot takes courtesy of Pro Football Talk or ESPN (soft, he says!). But you're here. So $200 for you is very different than the casual fan who likely watches a local team play so as to not be completely ostracized when he/she doesn't have anything to add to the office conversation on Monday.
It's not nothing though. Two hundred dollars is not a small bill in this economy, and the business ramifications of this are incredibly significant for a behemoth like the NFL.
The bottom line? Fans like myself who can't get DirecTV and don't live in a market that's showing the Rams have a way to watch live.
The future is here, and it includes more Rams football. That, ultimately, is good no matter how you look at it...even if it does cost a car payment.

Sick tits. I just connect my phone through the TV to watch two games at once with the other being Satellite. This is cool for future reference though.

News I can use!

Yes! It's back on PS3! I hated toting the PC into the living room last year. The PS3 app was incredible the year before last. You could pause the game. High Def. Time to give my sister another 100 bucks so I can bootleg her DirecTV log in and password another year.

I'm so excited. And I not can hide it.

I was curious about the quality of picture and sound streaming it on the PS4, I would really love to kick directvs ass out of my house and try it I just worry about qaulity and lag.

You can only stream Sunday Ticket Max on one log-in at a time. But her and her husband watch the games via their Dish. I get exclusive Game day rights to their streaming out of all the relatives, because I pony up the $100 more they need for the "MAX" upgrade. I even called DirecTV and confessed to the sin, to see if I was going to get them in trouble....they said nothing they can do to stop it. (But do not give your DirecTV login and password to just anybody off the street, they can see your billing info!)

Streaming over PS3 was a perfect picture. Just turn off your phone, because you'll be a few minutes behind the LIVE action. Sucks when you get a text from rival buddies giving away something you haven't seen yet.

Pretty cool. I'll probably continue to stream LQ/SD for free though. I usually find decent enough streams.

another question, do you know if you can use the short cut feature to rewatch games with the purchase of nfl ticket, do you have to get the 329.00 option?

NFL Game Rewind was the best option for re-watching the game via "streaming". That's on NFL.com. And I believe you can purchase for a single team for cheaper rate. The DirecTV streaming apps via PC/Laptop/Mobile App/ (and now once again GAMING CONSOLES) only play game while its being played. With PS3 2 years ago, the app, buffered and recorded everything I had watched up the point of being live, so I could rewind and pause. Last year, my PC would not pause the action, and pick back up where I paused. There was pause button, but it simply stopped the stream.

1. Cool beans.
2. Screw you and this $40 more for consoles nonsense, NFL.
3. Give us a freaking plan where we can pay $100 or so and JUST get the games of 1 team!

I may still just go game rewind, just to be able to watch games over, or maybe both.

With game rewind, you had to wait 24 hours to watch the game. There's something to experiencing the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat simultaneously with my fellow Ram Bruddah's and Sista's. Plus, how are you going to know what Diggity is drinking and cooking on game day, if you can't log-in to cyberspace on game day?

If this is popular enough it will either drive the price of NFL package down or this will go up next year.

I wish they would also market a single-team streaming package, or even single game packages. Maybe that will come in the future. I don't want to pay $200 for all the games, and I can see them on NFL Rewind anyway. But I'd definitely pay something to stream the Rams game every week, because down here we always get the Cowboys game and the Texans game.
