I know. I'm not saying he's a crappy QB or anything. There is a significant decision to be made if you're starting a team though. Do you want a zone-read offense, or a WCO? If I had to rank the two, I'd say Wilson is the better all-around QB, but I think Cousins is a better thrower. Their comparison breakdown is pretty telling in that it solidifies the idea that scrambling QBs tend to get sacked WAY more than traditional pocket passers.

He passes first. He runs because the blocking sucks. He is a he'll of a passer. He would be good in any offences.

Wilson plays in a WCO.

Yes, scrambling QBs will get sacked more often than a pocket passer. That's the nature of the approach, but this comparison also ignores the realities of their situation. Cousins has generally had quality protection as a starting QB. Wilson hasn't.

Wait.... this has turned into a Cousins v Wilson debate? Consider my give a damn busted.

For the record - neither one of them is elite and probably never will be.

Top 10 QB it’s been put forth

Lemme see (in no particular order mind you)

The Cheater
Alex Smith
Philip Rivers
The Rapist
Joe Flacco (yes)
Luck
Eli (yes)
Wussel
Aaron Rodgers
Matt Ryan
Stafford

And I didn’t ever bother with the young guns but had I

Winston
Marietta
Dak
Wentz
Goff
Watson (probably)

Cousins is not even remotely close to top 10 is my point I guess

LOL so everyone else playing QB in the NFL is better than he is?

Including a guy who isn't even playing?

This doesn't seem valid to me.

Quick question Les

Would you trade Luck for Cousins this minute

Pretty sure not 1 GM would

Hell, I even forgot to add in Carr

Dude is not in the top echelon, c’mon man!

:cool::LOL:

Yes I would.

IMO Luck is over hyped and hasn't really proven that he is more than "good".

His body of work isn't as strong.

@LesBaker He sucked ass all game and then the shecocks thought they had it won. Those were “toss it up and hope”s. You can have Cousins. Of course I put him on the same level as Eli. Make it about the other 21 players and he can do just enough. But he is not a game winning QB.

That also discounts his contributions to their rushing attack. Over his first four years in the NFL, he averaged over 600 yards rushing per year and nearly 6 yards per carry.

I don't like Wilson, but it's impossible not to notice what he does with terrible OLs year in and year out. He's a better QB than Cousins. I wouldn't think twice about taking him over Cousins if I were starting a team.

Not much of a debate. I don't like Wilson but, he finds ways to win with no offensive line.

Kirk Cousins is getting paid. If you're a top 16 QB, you're getting paid in today's NFL. There's no doubt that Cousins is that.
